We arrived in Aguas calientes and we were taken to another hotel seemingly because the room we reserved was not available. The replacement hote is on a noisy street and was not up to the same standard and we felt quite deceived by this whole affair .

I am so sorry, but our hotel was experiencing water problems. It is very common in the village of Machu Picchu. we offered to carry a other hotel, same category. we prepare sanwinch and store your luggage for free. the pickup and transfer was bad, becouse the tourism agencyand tour guide don´t wait at train station, which does not belong... I stayed here after leaving another hotel in Aguas Calientes that was horrendous. Maybe it was because I was on the heels of that bad experience, but Pakarina was very comfortable (we had a king bed) and quiet. Breakfast was just average, but the price, comfort, host, and location were excellent.

We paid an extra £2 for a superior double room and it was £2 well spent! The bed was very wow! Huge and I mean really huge, with the most comfortable mattress along with a fluffy feather duvet (which beats the usual blankets) and divine pillows. It was easily the best bed we slept in during our SA travels. Also... More

Finding a great place to stay at a good price in Aguas Calientes is not that easy. Reviews for each place varied considerably. Overall, I think Hostal Pakarina is good for the price. I had a private room with a king size bed that was extremely comfortable, flat screen TV, and a nice hot shower for 100 soles per night.... More

Nice owner but the property is not well-maintained. We arrived (group of 4) for two nights. The hostal smelled like a fish as the bottom floor has a restaurant on the ground floor and smells waft up to the lower levels. We stayed on the second floor and it seems like the rooms are half-finished (light fixtures hanging off the... More

This hostel room does not have heater... the night over there was around 0° C and the blanket was not enough to keep up the heat. The promised wi-fi connection was slower than a turtle, and kept disconnecting... The main attendant (probably the owner) of the place seemed really helpful, but the helpful does not make a hotel adequate, infra-structure... More

Stayed here for two nights when we visited Machu Pichu. The rooms are very basic and freezing. There was mould on the walks of the room and the ensuite. There were also stains on the bed sheets. The staff are friendly and they offer a basic enough breakfast in the morning from 5am which is handy if you plan to... More

About 15 min walk uphill from bus stop at bottom of Machu Picchu mountain. Very tiring to climb up there, lugging heavy bags and after days of climbing the mountains. Clean rooms with towels & soap/shampoo provided. Decently priced for being in tourist town. Breakfast has bread, juice, bananas, teas. Located in between lots of restaurants, stores, laundry, massage places.... More

We arrived in Aguas Calientes to go to Machu Picchu the next day. We were exhausted when arriving to the train station. The staff told us they would pick us up, but they did not. As such, we were very confused about the set up of Aguas Calientes and why it led into an open market. We used Google maps... More

The hostel is quite simple and small but for a one night stay it was good to have a private room with a comfortable bed. The problem was when we arrive: my boyfriend and I got there with a friend we met in cusco and we had a double room and a single room but the guy wanted to put... More
