This hostal is clean and comfortable for one night stay. They had good beds and later when we finally had hot water it was really hot. WiFi was good when it worked... We were promised to get breakfast 4:30 a.m. but they were little late with that. Very good anyways to be able to get anything at that time and... More

We booked the Hotel Sol de Oro while visiting Machu Picchu. We had been a bit leary of staying in Aquas Caliente based on reviews in travel books and online, but we found it to be a very lively and affordable place. The Hotel Sol de Oro was quite comfortable. We had two rooms and both had very comfortable beds... More

This is a classic case of "you get what you pay for". Don't stay here if you expect to get a good night sleep. We specifically asked for a quite room and where given a noisy one near the street. We convinced the hotel staff to let us change rooms, but the second one was just as bad. Every sound... More

The rooms and beds were nice and clean and comfortable. Hot water which is a plus in Peru I've found. However which is pretty huge the hotel is by a club. It was super loud music until late at night, 0130 per the owners. Which was disturbing , and it was loud all over the hotel so changing rooms wouldn't... More

This is a good place for visiting Machu Picchu. It is close to the train station, you can leave your luggage there while going up to MP and pick it up on the way to the train at the end of the day and they serve breakfast very early, so you can get up to MP before sunrise. Nothing fancy,... More

Clean and quiet with lovely women running the place. Perfect for a night en route to Manchu Pichu. Good wi-fi. There did not seem to be any hot water which could obviously be a huge problem, but i did not need to shower so I did not care, nor did I ask about that. Might have been an easy fix... More

We stayed there for one night, arriving late and leaving early, having breakfast at 4:30. The staff was friendly, we were happy with the rooms and slept well even though the windows were to the inside courtyard and we expected noisy tourists disturbing our sleep. For the price of USD40 it is one of the cheaper, but reliable accomodations in... More

Hostel with a lot of humidity. The girl at the reception is not friendly and unhelpful. The breakfast was basic and we found some hairs inside the sandwiches of cheese ! We told the staff about this problem and they said nothing ! TV did not work, internet/Wifi neither. We went to Machu Picchu during the day, and when we... More

for 1 night as part of 2 day tour so don't know this daily rate. Cons: windows in room were broken so hard to keep the insects out, humid as no AC, staff spoke little english which was ok but often not at the desk, room size small Pros: fairly clean, close to the train station/market, breakfast limited but they... ...I wasn't expecting a Hostal when I booked on their site. Knowing now that it was a hostal, it gets 4 stars. If more of a hotel/B&B, it would get 3. They couldn't find our booking initially, and we had a tough time communicating as we had limited Spanish vocabulary. Seems the place has a fresh coat of paint, breakfast... More
