WE booked the Taypikala Hotel because we wanted a quiet room for the night. We loved this hotel from the moment we walked in. The young woman at the front desk was very helpful and made us feel welcome immediately. Our room was spacious and very comfortable - king bed and great pillows and linens. Wi-fi was very fast in... Wasn't sure what to expect after reading a few mixed reviews but I must say the hotel was perfect for our needs. It was beautifully situated at the top of the town. The staff were so sweet, welcoming & kind. It was clean, the rooms were large and it was very reasonably priced. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay there & recommended... More

The Taypikala seems to be a relatively new hotel, in a very good location. Our room was clean, and extremely large. With the hotel being near the top of the hill, we had a decent view as well, and I think it's probably the closest hotel to the hot springs -- great after a day at Machu Picchu. The breakfast... We stayed here for one night as part of a tour group. It is a hike up to this hotel from the train station. Worth it. I liked being *up the hill* from the more central part of town. We had a corner room. It was spacious and clean. The shower door leaked a bit so we had to put... More

A small hotel located on a hill. Quite a climb from the train station if you have heavy luggage. The lady at the front desk was great though. Very helpful and went out of her way to ensure we had everything we needed. Breakfast was very good. Room was a little old and run down but bigger than the other... More

Stayed here for one night after doing the Parc of Machu Picchu! It is a good hotel, clean, well located and with a very friendly and helpful staff! I had dinner at the hotel and the food was good. Breakfast is good, but could have a little more variety of breads! It's a good choice! My room was a corner... More

The hike up to the hotel is a bit much if you haven't adjusted to the altitude....so definitely make sure you drink plenty of water and mate de coca. BUT the view from room was well worth it and the staff is very accommodating, and goes out of the way to help you in any way you need. Rooms are... More

This place is a great oasis while visiting Machu Picchu. I was thrilled when I arrived to my room to find a very comfortable bed with fine cotton sheets. The rooms are actually better than you think they're going to be from your initial impression in the lobby. Although, the lobby is fine, it's just that it gets better once... More

The hotel is in the top on the hill It is ok, clean, decent size and we got an upgrade to an in room jacuzzi =) The staff is always willing to help. The included breakfast was ok, the guy attending was the most friendly and nice guy in the hotel. Please update the google maps location! It is 2... More

This hotel is on top of the hill, very well located. If you are spending just one evening in this town, this is a great place to be. The view is awesome. I can't say the same about service. After a long travel of almost 18 hours, we reached the hotel. We were second in line, and the person at... More
