Our original hotel accommodation in Aguascalientes was booked by our travel agency in combination with our Machu Picchu trip - unfortunately when we arrived we discovered it was a hostel! And not a very nice one to add... we immediately logged on to Expedia to find a last minute hotel room and were lucky to stumble upon Taypikala for a... More

When I first walked into the room, it smelled like cat urine. That dissipated when I opened the windows and never came back. The bed was comfortable and longer than the average I have found in Peru. Breakfast buffet was fine.

Stayed at this hotel May 20th. It was the second time in my life due to timing most likely that I was upgraded to a suite, Decor is Peruvian and quirky, different from their Puno property and very nice to look at. The view is beautiful. Breakfast slightly above average. Very gracious staff. I had just speant the day at... More

Our G adventures tour stopped here for the night before heading up to Machu Picchu the next morning. Room was large on the corner of the building and the bathroom and room were nice and clean. Unfortunately being on the corner we had 2 nightclubs competing with each other outside our room. We were able to get to sleep so... More

Like many others, we stayed at the hotel prior to our visit to Machu Picchu. As mentioned by others, you have to hike uphill to get to the hotel, and again if you walk to the town square or some of the restaurants/bars in the area, The room was fine, spacious, and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. We... More

Our family was overall very disappointed with our stay at this hotel. The rooms are highly variable in quality, there were flying bugs in the rooms, the rooms were marginally clean, the elevator was broken, the breakfast was awful. My father has stayed in much cheaper hotels in Aguas Calientes offering better experiences. The only saving grace was that the... More

This is an average hotel, with great staff. Free baggage transfer to/from the train station. Free breakfast, and free WiFi. WiFi was VERY spotty though. It's at the top of a hill, so it's a bit of a hike to reach the top. Plenty of hot water, and the beds were of average comfort. If I had to visit the... More

Spent a very relaxing night here before our visit to Machupiccu. Great rooms that look toward the town of Aguas Calientes. Comfortable beds, clean bathrooms, and an overall nice atmosphere made for a nice stay. Lots of places to eat or have a coffee just steps away. This hotel is a bit of s walk up a hill from the... Taypikala Boutique Hotel Time Period: April 23, 2015 to April 25, 2005 Rating: The Taypilala is rated at 4-stars. Our assessment is that it is the hotel met 3-stars easily, because of its centric location. We feel the 4-star rating was achieved because of the closeness to the central plaza, WiFi, Refrigerator, and Safe. Breakfast was included, which was a... More

We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay in Taypikala hotel. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. We booked a suite which was really special, it was spacious and even had a hot tub in the room. This hotel is the perfect choice when visiting Machu picchu, especially if you have done... More
