I stayed at the Taypikala while visiting Machu Pichu. It is a very nice hotel, probably the nicest I stayed in. As all hotels I stayed in during this trip to Peru, the hotel was very clean and had a very helpful staff. It is located about 5 or 6 blocks from the railway station straight up. However, it is... We stopped here on our way to Machu Picchu. The hotel is in a great location with a sort of bohemian vibe surrounding it. As a bonus, the hotel had one of the strongest and hottest showers we had in Peru. I happened to leave something behind and the hotel found it and saved it for a few days until... More

This is the highest hotel in Aguas Calientes and closest to the natural spas. We had an upper floor room with jacuzzi and double normal room size. View was fantastic. Clean rooms with nice beds. Plenty of good eating places nearby. Worth the climb for a great view and more than comfortable accommodation.

This is the highest hotel in Aguas Calientes and closest to the natural spas. Thank heavens the porters carry the bags up and down from the station. Our original hotel accommodation in Aguascalientes was booked by our travel agency in combination with our Machu Picchu trip - unfortunately when we arrived we discovered it was a hostel! And not a very nice one to add... we immediately logged on to Expedia to find a last minute hotel room and were lucky to stumble upon Taypikala for a... More

We stayed at this hotel on a G Adventures Tour. It was one of the nicest places that we stayed. We had a room on the 6th floor and the view was great. However, they don't have a passenger elevator. So, if you stay on an upper floor like we did (90 stairs), you will get your exercise. Fortunately, the... More

When I first walked into the room, it smelled like cat urine. That dissipated when I opened the windows and never came back. The bed was comfortable and longer than the average I have found in Peru. Breakfast buffet was fine.

Stayed at this hotel May 20th. It was the second time in my life due to timing most likely that I was upgraded to a suite, Decor is Peruvian and quirky, different from their Puno property and very nice to look at. The view is beautiful. Breakfast slightly above average. Very gracious staff. I had just speant the day at... More

Our G adventures tour stopped here for the night before heading up to Machu Picchu the next morning. Room was large on the corner of the building and the bathroom and room were nice and clean. Unfortunately being on the corner we had 2 nightclubs competing with each other outside our room. We were able to get to sleep so... More
