We stayed at this hostel for two nights in July, 2014. We had to walk uphill a while to this hostel but it was not far away from the train station. The first room we were introduced was far back of the building. It was a dark but quiet room. We could see half broken buildings and sheds from the... More

I searched high and low for a good, budget option in Aguas Calientes. I knew the town would be overpriced, and it seemed as though most of the reviews for any hotels/hostels in AC were not positive. After staying at Pirwa for one night, I would recommend it. The room itself was very basic, but very clean. The bed was... More

We stayed here for one night and were pleased with location although it is up the hill so a bit of a mission with bags and altitude issues! The hostel was nice, welcoming but smelt of cooking- a family live in the building and were doing their own business so it wasnt a great smell. The room we stayed in... More

I stayed at the hostel for 1 night before waking up at 4.00am to go to Machu Picchu. I stayed in a private room with bathroom. As the title says, it serves its purpose. It is an OK option if you need to stay a night in aguas calientes and are on a budget. I would still suggest that you'd... More

If u r like most of the travelers that go to Aguas Calientes to spend the night coz u r going up the Machu/Wayna/ Huchuy Picchu on the next morning: its perfect for u! U get a good, quiet sleep, totally necessary for THE big day. Nothing else matters ;) staff is friendly. Brekkies are horrible.

I stayed only one night (during the low season) but I really enjoyed this short stay there. The bedrooms are basics but quite comfortable and very clean (so as the bathrooms). Staff member are nice and gives you a lot of information, really appreciated. It's a little bit far from the train station but the city is so small that... More

We went here based on a recommendation from the Lonely Planet. I don’t usually stay in hostels but we got a private room with bathroom so thought we’d give it a go. The room was clean-ish but the bed spread was old and grotty. There was no hot water, at all, and the breakfast was not so good. From someone... More

We stayed there one night before our Machu Picchu trip. The building is quite run down and the bed seemed to be in use for a long time. The breakfast was minimal and staff could be friendlier. You might feel that they have enough customers so they don't have to do much about it. Everything very basic.
