We stayed with two families (4 adults, 6 kids) for two nights at Hotel Charco Verde. We really enjoyed the hotel. Reservation process was all via emails and phone calls--I don't like giving out credit card info like that, but it worked out okay in the end. Rooms were simple, clean, and nice. . .we froze with the air conditioning!... More

I was here with a group of 20 people. They did a great job taking care of us. The view of the lake was beautiful. This definitely is more like an upscale hostel. The food was good. The rooms were basic but clean with air conditioning. There was no hot water but this is typical in Nicaragua. I loved the... More

we spend 2 nights in the hotel. It is nice, but not worth for the price they charge. They have a private beach with lava-sand. It is nice... The hotel is not closed to anything, so you need to have either a car, scooter to get around the island. otherwise you are stucked in this place. WiFi is only at... More

Under the shadow of a volcano and well sited for sunsets. Decent enough restaurant and plenty of howler monkeys around. Rooms good size and breakfast served at your table overlooking the lake. Very low key and tranquil

Did not stay here (no reason, we stayed a short walk from here), but frequented the restaurant a couple of times. Ok breakfast, but best of all was all the activities for our two children, 2 and 4. Bikes and playground was a good treat for the youngsters. And on the plus side, the staff was very friendly and attentive... More

We came to ometepe really without a plan. We stayed at Charco Verde hotel (paradise!) it was great. Prices were good and if you get lucky enough and get Abraham as your server then service is great! A couple of opportunities... No diet coke which is a most for many. No beans.... In Nicaragua?! That's like an oxymoron. The food... More

This cabana style hotel on an island in Lake Nicaragua was in a great position with a sandy beach and views across the lake. The cabins were basic but clean and air conditioned. We had a cabin away from the lake next to a building site which was unsightly but not particularly disturbing. Cabins along the beach seemed a much... More

We just stayed there one night. We had our own car so it was a breeze getting around. We were 2 couples and had rooms 20 & 21 near reception so we were able to pick up WIFI in our rooms. No hot water but it was OK.They are making some upgrades and adding more rooms. The place and the atmosphere... More

We didn't stay at the hotel, but we had some good tostones con queso and ice-cold Toñas at the restaurant. The beach in front is a great spot for watching the sunset after a beautiful nature walk nearby.
