Dar Raha was the most beautiful accommodation we stayed at during our travels through Morocco. Antoine, the owner, was beyond helpful, showed us around and made our stay very enjoyable. I liked the fact, that dinner was always a communal thing where all guests ate together at one big table in the beautiful little backyard. Food was delicious and the... More

If I lived in Zagora, this is just the type of house I would like to have. A traditional mud-built house, which meant that, even in December the rooms were just about warm enough not to need heating. The evening meal is communal, I arrived quite late the first evening, to find everyone was waiting for me, before starting dinner.... More

My friend and I had an amazing few days staying at Dar Zagora! Antoine was a lovely guide and we thoroughly enjoyed his company over many meals, and a tour through the palm grove and town. I would definitely recommend it! We took a night away from the hotel to stay in the desert after a short camel ride and... More

The house has a tasteful interior and a peaceful, tranquil atmosphere that makes me want to come back. Owner Antoine is very kind. In this hotel, all the guests eat together with him at one big table, that was a nice way to meet other travellers.

We stayed here for just one night, and are sad we didn't have longer! the hotel is beautiful, and very traditional. It has mud walls and large open air living spaces outside each room, equipped with comfy sofas, blankets and lanterns. The evening meal was delicious, and so was breakfast. They had heating, which was very welcome on a january... More

A delight to stay there. Welcoming owner/manager. staff and cat. Lovely communal spaces. Fantastic food! A few minor improvements e.g. A shelf in the shower, a place in the room to sit one's bag, a sturdier bed side table, would make a welcome difference to an otherwise charming guesthouse.

Antoine, Dar Raha's gentlemanly owner and host par excellence, is a former NGO in Africa; he has operated Dar Raha for about a dozen years. His thoughtful up-dating of a traditional house is quiet, comfortable and kasbah-like. Its lounges and dining areas are welcoming, and dinner meals are tasty Moroccan cuisine. Antoine's knowledgeable tour of the nearby ancient csar of... More

Dar Raha is a beautiful house. As Antoine said when he showed me around 'it's not just about the room, it's about the whole house'. Each room opens onto a sitting area, and there are salons, an interior courtyard and a roof terrace with a beautiful view over the old ksar of Amezrou on one side and the 'palmeraie' on... More

Why is this a better riad (traditional Marrocan family home build into a guest house) than many others? It is not the luxury or beauty of it being a rather simple place. That expresses itself in the low price of $20,- a night. It is simple and has no bathrooms en suite. But in it simpleness it is very well... More
