Riad dar Sofian is absolutely amazing! Upon arrival we greeted with such warmth and kindness by Abraham. We were then served some yummy Moroccan "whiskey" (tea). Our room was gorgeous, clean, and so comfortable. We felt right at home. For dinner my husband and I felt very spoiled. We were served the most delicious and best Moroccan food by our... More

Great place to stay...we loved the pool and sitting next to it for dinner. The carpets are beautiful and Ibrahim made everything just perfect for us. (thanks again Ibrahim, you were on top of all the details for us). You'll get great service and have a wonderful time here, without doubt. We left for the Sahara yet would have enjoyed... More

Being new to morocco we travelled down from marrakech via Ait Ben Haddou. The Riad Sofian is a luxurious complex with swimming pool and garden setting. A very welcome surprise for our desert trip staging post. A very different proposition to Marrakesh Riads and relatively cheap for the quality. The town itself offers little so it is a great option... More

Architectural interesting on first arrival, it's layout reminded me of designs of bygone era with a central descending staircase. The rooms are of a high standard of bedding and furnishings whilst the pool area is excellent. The staff of friendly and informative. This really is sanctuary after a long drive and well worth the booking. It's now our firm favourite... More

we stayed at the Riad for one night on our way to the desert. it's an oasis of calm, stylish architecture and traditional art objects, a very large swimming pool surrounded by palm trees, friendly staff (thanks Ibrahim!) and fantastic dinner with home made fresh bread. the vegetarian couscous is highly recommended. the rooms are spacious and comfortable, wifi is... This has to be one of my all time favourite hotels - I fell in love with Dar Sofian the minute I arrived. This is a little piece of magic in a barren desert landscape with beautiful decoration and plants, cozy rooms, nice food, a great pool and a very welcoming personnel. I wish I stayed longer - but this... More

We stayed in this Riad alas only for one night whilst enroute to the desert. The Riad had been pre-booked by OUARZAZATE UNLIMITED as part of our Sahara Desert trip. We arrived at this beautiful, peaceful Riad to a warm welcome and mint tea, dates and olives by the pool. The whole Riad is beautifully appointed as was our bedroom.... More

We were driving from the uk to m hamid south of zagora. I stopped to see if they had any rooms for two nights, we stayed in the tent of the hotel. So glad we did, a great place to stop for a rest at a good price. The staff were great in being helpful and friendly, the manager was... More

The best riad/guest house in Zagora.... .maybe Morocco. Had to change our travel plans at last minute and Booking.com charged us 80 Euro cancellation fee. However when we showed up 2 days later the owner (Slimane) was very understanding and we stayed that night at now further charge. Fabulous rooms, courtyard and pool area. Super comfortable beds. Lounge with big... More

We arrived by motorcycle and were very tired. The hotel provided impeccable attention and service. The motorcycles were under surveillance the whole night and all the facilities worked well. As an added bonus, they are pet-friendly and considerate to animals, especially the hotel's cat Good swimming pool, courteous staff Pricing on the up-scale end but well worth it for a... More
