We stayed for one night and booked also a desert tour for one day and one night. The hotel was clean, quiet and the garden / pool is really fine. The tour was well oeganized and we got everything we got promised. We would definetely do this tour again. Experiencing the desert was one of the top highlights in Morocco.

So I've heard of this rumour that once you have been recommended or are the star pick from rough guide or lonely planet you get a bit big for your boots and don't bother trying. This is what I feel chez ali has fallen prey to. From the moment we stepped in here to when we left the service from... More

We pulled up to Auberge chez Ali having already booked a trip into the Sahara with Caravane du Grand Erg. When the host heard we'd booked with someone else he lied, saying he'd never heard of them (their office is literally a block away in the same little town), then insinuated they were fly-by-night scam artists -- that they didn't... Our room was furnished very simply but tastefully and was bright and airy. The gardens were beautiful and the secluded pool area in the back was an amazing escape from the dusty hot streets of Zagora. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Even the strange peacock that roamed the garden added to the ambience of the place.

Our room was excellent, clean, well appointed with a nice terrace view. Parking was a bit minimal, on the street, but seemed to be OK, we had no problem. Here and at some other small places in the south, we found hot water was not always available. Here they explained that the water was heated by solar units and/or wood... More

Ali's multilingual family is very accommodating and hospitable! The hotel and gardens are so lovely with all kinds of artistic beauty and natural flare. The camel trip to the Sahara sand dunes near MHamid that they organize/run is a definite must do!

A hotel and restaurant at one end of Zagora. We had many hours to kill before our bus left and we tried almost all of the cafés and this place was the best. We only had tea here but the set menu looked really nice and not bad value. It was 100 dirham each for a three course meal. The... More

Very sad to share the news that Ali blandi died of cancer 5 months ago. things were not quite as they were with Mr Blandi at the helm. I wish his son's all success in taking things forward. On the plus side the hotel now has wifi and more rooms than last time I stayed, also a swimming pool.. What... More
