We spent 2 nights in this hotel after we had been staying in beautiful riads in other towns, so we were a bit shocked to find it over-run with tour groups - and cats. I like cats, but not on my dining table. Our room in the old part of the hotel smelled badly of drains, so we asked to... more

this is a very old hotel, surrounded by the original walls of the city. we got very good rates there. we spent two nights there, but on the firt night, they gave us a room in the newer section of the hotel. we did not like our rooms and asked to be moved to the older section which was a... more

We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed this traditional hotel with buffet dinners on the terrace. The rooms and their immediate surroundings do lack charm and are slightly shabby, but they were clean. We enjoyed the space and tranquility of the public spaces. The gardens and patios with their mature trees and birds. Evening drinks were enjoyed at the poolside bar.... more

We returned to the Palais Salam in September 2009 after a gap of 6 years, and what a change we saw. We wish we could say that the hotel was even better than in 2004, but alas we cannot. On the plus side, the staff are still as charming and as helpful as they were before, although in all honesty... more

I stayed at this hotel recently as part of a longer tour of Morocco and it was by far the worst place we stayed. Having mobility problems I was offered a room in the older part of the hotel as this was on the level, so far so good. However the room was very dirty and the final straw came... more

Spent 10 days in Marocco and this was the worst hotel we stayed at. The place is dirty (even cats walking all over the breakfast tables, feeding from leftovers), the facilities are in dismal conditions, personnel unmotivated. We even got sick from the food we had at dinner in the hotel. Stay away from this place more

Although we stayed there for a week LAST year - my 17 year old daughter and I, I have just read the reviews and feel I need to add something. It's what you make of it. When we arrived I did not like the rooms in the old part - they were very dark, but reception were really helpful and... more

My girlfriend and I set out for a taste of the real morocco, sick of going to places where you can get a pint of Guinness and a full English at every corner. So we decided on the Palais Salam. When we got to the hotel at 9 at night and was welcomed by a warm receptionist and an amazing... more

Stayed here for part of Christmas 2008 but had to move to an Agadir hotel because the so called Palais was so cold and uncomfortable. Rates are very high at that time and we could not afford a room in the newer area, Not recommended for winter travel. more
