My girlfriend and I set out for a taste of the real morocco, sick of going to places where you can get a pint of Guinness and a full English at every corner. So we decided on the Palais Salam. When we got to the hotel at 9 at night and was welcomed by a warm receptionist and an amazing... more

we travelled with thomas cook to a "4star" hotel. the first room had filthy toilet and shower. exposed wires over the sink. the indoor bar, riad restaurant, dining room, hammam, massage and fitness centre were closed.. the pool bar catered to "teetol muslims so to get a drink was nigh neer impossible but if you wanted a lady of the night... more

Stayed here for part of Christmas 2008 but had to move to an Agadir hotel because the so called Palais was so cold and uncomfortable. Rates are very high at that time and we could not afford a room in the newer area, Not recommended for winter travel. more

I stayed at Palais Salam in April 2009 and found it to be unwelcoming and expensive, I would not go back. Tipping is a way of life in Morocco but moderation is all. more

The week after New Year is obviously very busy in Morocco so turning up ast dusk and hoping to find a little Riad was optimistic. We came here first and saw it was huge and not cheap so went to everywhere else within the walls of the town - they were either full (two pretty looking french riads) or too... more

Hugely atmospheric place built into the city's signature pink City ramparts. We got a very nice, pleasant and spacious room in the new wing and had the pool in that part of the hotel to ourselves - perfect for a bit of winter sunbathing. Lunched in the hotel - good French style food and not outrageously priced. Breakfast limited but... more

Having read the numerous negative reviews of this hotel on Trip Advisor, we weren’t expecting too much from the Palais Salam, so we weren’t as disappointed as we might have been. The location, architecture and ambience are all very good, but they are completely let down by the rooms themselves. Our room was massive, the bathroom alone was bigger than... more

What can I say? If you want luxury or even just a nice place with character I think you'd have to pay for Maison Arabe or La Moumounia. How this is classed as a 4 star is beyond me. Our room was stuck in the 1970s, though it was a good size and the bed was quite comfortable, otherwise I... more
