This is "hotel as theatre," in which you need to just turn yourself over to the management and let them work their magic. We found each guided tour we went on to be wonderful--from the sunset ceremony atop a ruined fortification, to the walk through the oasis valley in which Dar Ahlam is located. As others have noted, each meal... more

Mom, Dad and 9yo daughter enjoyed two spectacular nights at Dar Ahlam in the middle of a 3-week June 2008 Moroccan journey. Couldn't have chosen a more serenely magical place to spend 2 days of down time mid-journey. We stayed at some stunning places in Morocco (L'Heure Bleu, Amanjena, etc.) but this place is in a class by itself. We... more

Beautiful setting...gorgeous property...rooms are lovely...tour guide and driver were very nice...service staff is friendly, charming... Primary issue...price to value... The hamman is nice...but an overview for guests as to services and to organization of hamman would be appreciated...Very limited choice in meals...menus are set with little flexibility...Overview of services (tour, activity options) is needed...it is very difficult to make decisions... more

Dar Ahlam was recommended to us by a Moroccan friend and as it was a member of Relais Chateaux we thought it would indeed live up to its motto "House of Dreams" - Unfortunately there are some things that need work. Overall it is indeed a lovely property. The gardens are very charming and our room was great. The bed... more

Even though my husband and I seem to have made it our purpose over recent years to frequent only hotels of a 5* Luxury standard, this is the first time we have ever truly had the desire to tell others on Trip Advisor of our experience, since this time we found it to be remarkable. There are so many good... more

One of the most relaxing stays in such beautiful surroundings. Dar Ahlam is set between the Sahara and the Atlas mountains; the scenery is out of this world. We booked it through Mr & Mrs Smith which meant that we got a complimentary handmade candle from the hotel as we’ve got a membership card, it seemed so pertinent to our... more

My husband and I stayed at the Dar Ahlam resort in April 2007 for one night. Being very frequent travelers around the world, we appreciate fine hotels. The hotel property is beautiful and very impressive -as a riad that has been redone into a luxury hotel. The food was great as well - they try to make every evening meal... more

My wife and I spent 4 nights at this wonderful hotel. This included a one night excursion in the Sahara. We were somewhat concerned about the price at the time of booking but decided to pamper ourselves nevertheless. In retrospect, we feel we certainly got our money's worth. This is one of the finest places we have stayed in our... more

Arrived to cold and rain after 4.5hr trip from sunny marrakech where we stayed at caravanserai (great looking hotel but only and only just, an 'ok' experience). Met by muddy truck. drove up through muddy track to muddy forecourt. Thinking ...what on earth? Stepped inside and thought 'WHAT ON EARTH!!!!!!!!' There is no way to describe it. It is almost... more

Sophisticated but laid back - you set the pace of your stay here in this renovated Kasbah. We stayed here for four nights, and we could have honestly stayed forever. The staff were both attentive and discrete at the same time. We were originally booked to stay at the Gazzelle D'Or, but we were let down by them as they... more
