We finally arrived at Maison Merzouga late in the day after a long drive from Fes. Ali welcomed us with open arms and gave us the best room in the house. He, his family and the wonderful staff prepared us a great meal and then sat with us and talked with us and gave us such friendly hospitality. These experiences... More

This guesthouse was a delightful oasis in the middle of the desert! It was a very clean, peaceful, and accommodating respite for our group of four after a 8-9 hour drive down from Fes. The staff were absolutely welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The rooms were beautiful with many fossil decorations from the region. They have a great pool area and... More

We stayed 1 night in this hotel. The place was amazing and the staff were the most impressive. I was very sick when I arrived and they offered to help in any way they could. They even organized medicine from a pharmacy in another town to be delivered by a taxi driver whilst I was in bed. All I had... More

We stayed at Maison Merzouga Guest House in April 2015. We are a family of 4…2 adults and 2 kids (ages 2 and 5 years old) from Washington, DC. We are an adventurous type family…but certainly a trip of this kind with young children can be fun and maybe a little chaotic at times!!! While I looked forward to the... More

The accommodations were great, and the hospitality was unmatched. I was very sick when we arrived at Maison Merzouga, and everyone was so helpful. When I felt a little better they prepared some mild curry and rice for me, but my wife had a full dinner and it was one of the best she had in Morocco.

I certainly echo the sentiments of other reviewers. Not only because of the uniqueness of the excursion into the desert that could make one see Maison Merzouga through rose-tinted glasses, but because Ali truly runs a great place with aplomb. The hospitality is genuine and the service really great. Probably unrivalled in Morocco. Brother Omar was patient and very accommodating... More

We truly enjoyed our stay--the staff was friendly, the room comfortable, the meals delicious, and the pool refreshing. We started with the overnight desert camel ride--perhaps not the most comfortable means of transportation, but a completely unique experience, with the bonus of a gorgeous sunset, amazing stars, and blessed silence--and some fascinating desert creatures, to boot! We finished with a... More

The Seggaoui family have created an outstanding guesthouse just by the dunes of Erg Chebbi. Food was excellent, and everyone in the staff were friendly and helpful. Ali and Lahcen are amazing hosts, making sure that you have everything you need and that you are comfortable and happy. They are also more than willing to share their knowledge about life... More

Maison Merzouga is actually located in Hasselabied village about 4km away from Merzouga village or a 50 dirham cab ride - your cab driver will not volunteer to turn on the meter so negotiate beforehand. Another village (Takouj) lies in between Merzouga and Hasselabied but apparently many of the villages bordering the sand dunes (Merouga, Takouj and Hassilabied) have been... More

Me and my boyfriend stayed at the guesthouse on the 20th of March for the Desert tour experience. We arrived very early -4 am- the morning of the 20th and they had the room ready for us, so that we could sleep until late in the morning before our desert tour at 4 pm. Once awake we realised that the... More
