We stayed one night only, but regretted to leave, as Hmed, the host, was great to talk to & we loved the changing colors of the desert. The room was comfortable, the dinner delicious (the best tajine we had in Morocco).

We arrived at Chez Tonton just as the sun was setting over the sand dunes. Since our GPS didn't quite get us to the door, Hmad met us at the near-by Gendarmerie and led us back to this surprisingly delightful B & B. Wonderful rooms! Clean and spacious, with a nice bathroom and good firm bed with plenty of blankets.... More

A great place to stay. The owner Ahmed is extremely friendly and talkative. We had a few nice chats on life in Morocco and in Merzouga, on changing habits, traditional customs etc. It really provided us with interesting insights into the modern Moroccan way of life. The guest house itself is very pleasant and clean. You get a chance to... More

We didn't slept in this guest house, but we had lunch two times there and we had an excursion around Erg Chebbi provided by Ahmed. The owner is very friendly, takes his time talking to you, and gives you a solution for everything you need around Merzouga. The food was delicious, for sure one of the best salads and tajines... Chez Tonton is a very nice place to stay. The rooms are spacious, neat and clean and they are very well-decorated! The owner is very friendly and kind. He was very curious about our culture and environment in Hong Kong and I showed him some pictures of our lives. We had a great chat in the evening with the Moroccan... More

We hired a guide for our two days in Merzouga and he recommended Chez Tonton. The rooms are all on the ground floor; they are clean and have mains power and hot showers, and comfortable beds. The hotel is on the northwest edge of Merzouga village, so easily accessible (and well signposted) from the main road leading from Rissani. There... More

This guest house was recommended to us by their relatives at La Fibulr d'Or in Ait Benhaddou. How fortunate we were to hear about it! The bedrooms are nicely decorated and huge, and the bathrooms are beautiful and very clean. The family that owns it are very friendly and great fun to chat with. We had only a half-day in... More
