We showed up without reservations, but ended up booking their best accommodation type- a two floor suite was available - two bedrooms, two sitting areas, and bathroom. Literally right in front of our door step & windows was a sweeping view of Ait Benhaddou. If you're not willing to pay for a suite, no worries - you can relax on... more

Yes, superb views. Lovely terrace. Serious dinners and B'fast with friendly (but a bit slow) service. Nice small pool. But for a room like nr. 1 (their standard) a hotel claiming 1 or 2 stars owes nothing but shame. Guesthouse-level, no more. So crammed that opening the door blocks passage. No chairs, hardly luggage space. No separate bathroom; it's a... more

We stayed at Dar Mouna for 1 night so that we could watch the sunrise over the Kasbah and hopefully beat the busloads that I heard come by mid day. Arriving late in the afternoon, we had a wonderful dinner in the dining room. Next day we watch the sunrise over the Kasbah, changing different shades of yellow. It was... more

We didn't really liked this hotel. Because the rest of the rooms we're booked we were shuffed in the garden room ('le chambre du Jardin'). Although it sounds lovely, it's definitely not that nice. The windows were broken, the bathroom smelled horrible, we found some undefined species and the room was located next to garages and other unromantic stuff. The... more

We have stayed twice at this hotel, it is a lovely place but the restaurant is really terrible. and puts you off staying there as they offer b and b and dinner all included. Instead of serving good Moroccan cuisine their soups are really awful, one Dutch child was actually holding her nose while eating it.I must admit i felt... more

I stayed in Dar Mouna in 2006 and it was wonderful. The hotel is very charming, the staff is friendly, the restaurant is very good and Ait Ben Haddou is one of the most beautiful places I ever saw. Go there. more

Dar Mouna is a really lovely place to stay. First of all, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Their terrace (where you have breakfast) has a super view across to Ait Ben Haddou, and its a pretty short walk across the dry river bed to get over to Ait Ben Haddou. The Dar is a traditional Moroccoan mud building,... more

Away from the big cities, this dar is located in front of the Ksar Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Center. After a long day on the road exploring the Dades Valley & Gorges, we arrived late in the afternoon as the day visitors were departing from the site. This is sort of on the way from Ouarzazate to... more

We had 2 nights in early April at this refurbished family home built by traditional methods. Rooms are arranged around a central living area and are a good size and traditionally decorated. Plumbing is basic but works but the shower/toilet area is only semi-private separated from the rest of the room by a wall that is not the full floor... more

We stayed a night in Ait Ben Haddou on a road trip through Morocco and enjoyed the remote, small town. One of the attractions of this town is that it is off the beaten path. Tourists come to see it for the day and a few for overnights, but the locals are a lot less used to the tourist trade,... more
