Essentially this is upmarket backpacker accomodation. If you expect anything else, stay away. We spent 7 nts here. Versus other accomodation on Perhentian Kecil this has ceiling fan, air con, 24hr electric and a bathroom (cold shower). The only other place on the island to compare to is Bubu Long Beach. Despite the other reviews, I liked Shari-La. If you are not too keen on backpacking and living in the more budget guesthouses, Shari-La looks like the best bet. Absolutely disaster . Staff doesn't speak English, chaos at the reception desk - even if you book night you have no sure that your reservation is still stands. Every day we were standing at reception desk about 3 hours waiting for the information if we have place to stay tonight or not? Price absolutlety not adequacy to living there. more
