Booked through Anjung Travel based in Kuala Besut. We arrived 30th April 2015, Thursday morning around 11.00. Had to wait for a while for the room as check-out time also around 11am. We got the sea view chalet, the closest to the beach.Lovely view! The chalet comes with 2 double queen beds.Just nice to fit the four of us. Room... More

We stayed here for 3 nights in April 2015. The quality of the accommodation was among the best on Pulau Perhentian Besar - and good value. The manager was very friendly and polite and she was incredibly helpful. The place is lovely, so relaxing, the beach here is quiet and clean, and the water is turquoise and clear. Rooms could have... My girlfriend and I (28/33) stayed 5 days on the big perenthian island. Unfortunately we did not reserve a hotel before, hence most of them were already full. Since we did not feel like walking and searching we chose the well located and still vacant a bit expensive place coconut/cosy chalet. Our room was clean and good. Room service only... More

The New cocohut chalets are certainly not new in fact they look like budget accommodation. We booked a suite with garden view & upon entering it all we could smell was damp & sewage, we asked to be moved but were told they were full! The bed was hard & pillows smelt damp & were like cement, the shower room... More

Excelent location, a real corner of sea paradise. Fish, little sharks and turtles. The chalet is not at the top level, specialy if you have a room at Cozy. On the beach the room are ok, large enought and almost clean taking in consideration you are on a coral beach. The restaurant is ok and all the staff is very... More

It's nothing fancy, but it's probably all you will ever need in Perhentian. Clean room & bath, walking distance to the beach where you can sunbath, swim and snorkel. Food is aplenty if you are on package with them. View is nice both day and night.

Where do I start! We have just spent 3 nights at the New Cocoa hut chalets, not sure what is new about them. The standard of these are what you would expect to find for a cheap room 6 years ago when we first started traveling Malaysia but things have moved on. These are not cheap!! they are very dark... This hotel is really gooooood, we had a big room with balcony for 5 nights. The island is amazing: White sand, coconut trees, crystal clear water, nice beach! By speedboat from the jetty in Kuala Besut, it takes around 35 minutes to get to the resort. The hotel staff is really nice and helpful. Zila at the reception, wow! Thank... More

Location is good (quiet beach of Perhentian Besar). Rooms are basic. Electricity is intermittent - kept cutting off in the middle of night hence less comfortable to sleep. Negative points are - 1) Drinking water is not free (a 1.5L water costs RM4), so it can be quite costly since the island is very hot. 2) Meals are not included... More

There isn't many places to choose from on perhentian besar, think most are basic like coco hut. Staff were nice, breakfast was below average. Staying in a wooden hut always involves insects and weird smells. The sun loungers definitely need cushions on. The wifi is really poor - as expected on the island. BUT the snorkelling is amazing and the... More
