We stayed for 3 nights at the end of our Malaysia trip, we stayed in a deluxe hill view which was lovely and peaceful, away from the restaurant and the jetty. We saw monkeys in the trees outside our room on a couple of occasions. The jetty can get pretty busy but it never bothered us and you can always... More

We had good expectations when coming here. After having read the reviews we went for the deluxe chalets with sea view, which were ok except for a bas smell of mould which we managed to improve by venting the room. The main disappointment was from the quality of the house reef, very scarce visibility, little is left, few fishes. We... More

Perhentian Island (Besar) is a wonderful location for nature lovers: no knicknack, no jet ski and no banana boats. O.k. especially at Tuna bay there can be quite some boat traffic at times because of the jetty , but although I am rather sensitive about noise it did not really disturb us. There are large separated areas for swimmers and... More

Tuna bay is blessed with a great location right in front of a reef which is literally 5 feet from shore and not in bad shape notwithstanding the number of tourists that likely touch and trample it on a daily basis. Evidence at depth that they're trying to re grow the reef too, which is heartening. Lots of fish to... More

Big shout out to the amazing staff!!!! Especially the ones at reception, restaurant and people who handle the booking enquiries. Without you guys our trip wouldn't be as smooth and as amazing! Beautiful beach at tunabay, very chill and relaxed. Great link to diving company just next door - Universal Divers. Awesome diving instructors and all very helpful and accommodating.... More

I have just come back from a two week holiday in Malaysia, where we travelled the country and spent 3 nights at Tuna Bay Resort. The boat transfer from Kuala Besut was easy, the hotel has an office (with WIFI) and they will arrange for your bags to be put on the boat and also to walk you to the... More

Enjoyed a four night stay at Tuna Bay - very organized from arrival at airport despite our booking the day before at 4:30pm. We spent our first night in beach chalet number one which is adjacent to the restaurant. We could hear guests in the restaurant/bar but it didn't prevent us from sleeping. On day two chalet#2 opened up so... More

We've stayed here for a couple of days last September, doing all the way from Singapore over KL up north to the Perhentian Islands by plane, car and boat. It was quite a journey, but much better than if you come from overseas. The Tuna Bay seems to be the first stop of the boats coming from the coast. The... More

Very nice bungalows, even garden-view. Clean beach with chairs. Swimming area marked so that any boat wouldnt bother. Pieceful, no other people on the beach just guests, not crowded. Clean rooms, cleaned every day if needed. Wifi in lobby. Extremely polite, friendly and helpful staff. Only food might be abit better, its nothing special. And restaurant prices abit expensive compared... More

Palm trees? Check! White sand beach? Check! Clear blue sea? Check! Lots and lots of little fish that nibble on your legs? Check and double check! Every possible ingredient is accounted for and still is neither of those things that made our stay at Tuna Bay so enjoyable. That honor goes to the staff and Tony and Elias in particular.... More
