This has been the best trip ever for me. I visited Pulua Gemia (or 'Gem Island') is nothing short of marvellous. It is a small island with an excellent beach and light blue waters of the South China Sea, something that every traveller desires! We stayed at the Gem Island Resort & Spa for 2 nights in May 2013 (couldn't... More

We visited Gem Island in May, as its off the East coast of Malaysia you get the monsoon in the UK winter months. The rooms are very comfortable and very well furnished including a shower without a roof giving the feeling of truly going native. The massage room is awesome and while having your back massaged you are looking down... More

we stayed there for 3nights. came from singapore. took a bus from golden mile to shahbandar/merang jetty (11hrs) then a taxi to marang jetty (35rm for half hour ride) careful not to get ripped off. then boat from marang to gem island (less than half hour). first off, the service was impeccable. not the fake kind that do it so... Wonderful crystal clear beach. Friendly staff especially Arjun and Abang Botak( not sure his name but a bald head Malay gentleman).privacy assured .overall we would suggest Gem Island to all friends and definitely will visit again.I would say this is one of the best beach around.thank you Gem Island for the wonderful hospitality. This is a beautiful Island but often very quiet with minimum occupancy of the rooms. Making it relitavly private. You are restricted to eating at only one restaurant on the evening. Needs maintenance. I would recommend staying at kapas to give you more freedom then you can visit gem by either kayaking or on a boat trip. Behind gem island... More

One of my all time favorite island in Malaysia ever since the visit in 1996 formerly known as Gemia Island. The island is so private during non-peak season, that make you feel you almost own the island. love the size of the island, all the room right above the sea. Perfect stay with Family and partner. The last visit with... More

Stay for 2D1N @ half board package . Booked for 2 rooms . The resort is truly beautifully set up in a private island . The island is small plus the environment so peaceful with a clean white crystal sand . We did enjoyed our dinner , breakfast and kayaking @ snorkeling activities . Our room was clean eventhough its... More

We went to Gem from Kapas where the accommodation was too basic for us. We had high expectations and it looks great from the sea. Up close less so and the closer you get, the worse it gets. Ok the outlook, the view, especially across to Kapas and it's lovely beaches, is wonderful, you'd never tire. And the rooms are... More

It's been easily finding nemo few meters from the beach during low tide, lots of sea cucumbers, sea urchin as well; wonderful snorkelling spot is just at the beach. The food & drinks are surprisingly great, must try.
