I spent a relaxing vacation with my hubby. The resort is cosy. The staff are friendly and helpful . Knowing that we are Chinese , the chef were so considerate that preparing us Chinese food. The beach is nice with lots of fishes, but jellyfishes too! Maintenance is a must for the hotel. Spa should be reopened. The room is... More

We had a nice family vacation over a holiday weekend. Yes, the resort has seen better days maintenance-wise, which is a shame. The room was clean and the housekeepers were friendly and helpful, but they seemed to be way overworked! The restaurant was efficiently run, even at full capacity, and we all really enjoyed the food during our stay. If... More

This is the location is what you always dreamt of. Small island with a good beach. All rooms have sea view. Alcohol is served in this paradise. The food is really great (lonely planet tells the opposite, but they could not be more wrong!!). Around the island you can snorkel and see the beautiful reef. Great place to stay a... More

A modest resort on a private island gives you a real privacy. Being more of a city traveler, find it pretty quiet. Unless you are in solitude or just want to laze around or solely into water recreation like kayak, boating, and snorkeling, then you wouldn't be very impressed with this place. The staffs were very friendly and accommodating. The... More

I stayed at the resort for 2 days and snorkelled mornings + evenings. Awesomely spectacular: Reef Life at resort door step. Some of the reefs & sea life around the island is simply incredible. Moray eels, clown fish, angel fish, huge puffer fish, long beak coral fish, Parrot fish ... just to name a few. Note that August is the... More

First I have to rave about the 3 workers who run the dining hall. 2 men and a young lady and also our house keepers. The staff here seems extremely over worked and after 3 nights and days and getting the same servers for all 3 meals and watching them run and get bags from the jetty. Management give those... More

Beautiful Island with nice staff. The food is more expensive than the mainland but considering the work required to get it to the island it was definitely worth it. The hotel was clean and had excellent views from the rooms and the dinning room. The beaches are small but perfect for snorkeling from with the corals beginning 1-2 meters from... More

Tripadvisor reviews seemed to give this one the thumbs up and so we booked 3 nights at Gem Island Resort & Spa - two couples in two separate rooms. Initially everything went to plan from booking to taxi pickup at the airport to boat ride across to the island. When we checked in we were told that there was a... More

During our stay we did not have running water for 3 days. Ok - you are on an island and things can break but there has been lack of care/information and nobody seemed to know what was going on. We spent a few hours being shunted from room to room to try and have a shower only to find out... More

I have booked this hotel online as I saw the photos and the trip adviser reviews, however, when I reached there I noticed there was no electricity in the entire hotel, when I asked the reception they said the electricity shut off every day from 2:30 till 5:30 pm. I did not know about that fact and I argued with... More
