We have just returned from a trip to Malaysia, and did the 3 day 2 night full board at Mulu Resort; it included the 4 cave tours. If you shop around, you can get all this at a good price on the web… We thought the Mulu Resort was just wonderful, room was nice and we had TV ok and... more

Well this resort is just not it. We stayed in total 3 nights (in 2 different rooms) First of all the rooms: All the mid-range and top class hotels in Malaysia we stayed in (and even some budget options) offer complimentary mineral water, usually 2 bottles of 0,5 litres. Not the Royal Mulu, they just put up a sign in... more

The hotel is the only alternative to Mulu National Park lodge when you are staying in Mulu. The very idea of going to Mulu is to explore the surrounding caves and nature and does not imply spending much time in the hotel. Staying in Mulu for 3 days we merely used the hotel as a place to sleep and have... more

You go to Mulu for the caves - and they are totally amazing. However, this review is not about the caves - it's about Royal Mulu Resort. Sure the rooms are comfortable enough - and, yes, there is even hot water! But a previous reviewer got it just right - this could be a great place (just think about the... more

I have just come back from my third visit to Mulu and I absolutely love it there! I have read some of the reviews on here and it seems to me that they must be staying on another planet or something. For me I am always amazed that I am staying slap bang in the middle of the Borneo Jungle.... more

I would like to echo much that has already been written, and state that the situation remains much the same. To reach Mulu from Kota Kinabalu is at present made more difficult by the withdrawal of the direct flight. We had to travel via Miri. There are 2 flights daily from Miri to Mulu, on a Fokker 50. The connection... more

Like most visitors, we stayed in this hotel in order to visit the Mulu park and not just to go to the resort. The hotel is actually OK but is badly in need of new management. Both the hotel and the tour staff were all very friendly and efficient as you usually find in S.E Asia. We stayed in a... more

we stayed for 3 nights at this resort in december...booked our stay through a travel agent (ping anchorage) but you can also book directly by visiting the resort's website or by calling them directly. the most common itenirary for a visit to this part is a visit to the 4 famous caves, watching the groups of bats spiralling out from... more

The resort is surrounded by rainforst, and is very lush. The staff were very helpful and nice. The rooms were large and airy, with a well thought out design. The lobby and lounge areas are so comfortable with large cushiony cane furniture. The food was exceptional and caters for all different styles of foods. A tradional show is offered everynight... more
