Overall, it was a pleasant experience as the lodge was in a quiet area, surrounded by nature and the staff is very friendly, esp the owner who can tell you interesting stories and provide good information on Miri and Niah. However, the lodge is located between Miri (about 15 kms away from the city) and Niah caves (about 1 hour... More

What a lovely setting! The lodge overlooks a small lake and is surrounded by jungle beauty. Owner/hosts Mike, a Brit and his Malaysian wife Esther are engaging and caring hosts. Esther discussed her fascinating family history with me and Mike was super helpful in helping me sort out arrival/departure details. The home-cooked dinners were really delicious. The only downside is... More

As expats (NZ/Aus.) based in Brunei we've stayed at Treetops several times. Due to conflicting work schedules we haven't been as often as we'd like and we'd stay more often if we could. The owners are friendly, helpful, engaging yet never intrusive. The rooms are spotlessly clean and tidy and comfortable. My wife and I love the genuine Malay food... More

Very nice place to relax, enjoy nature, the beach. ...and life.. . Very friendly and helpfull owner, Mike and Ester. We are staying in the Longhouse-rooms and feel better than in a national park. If you are fine with the common restrooms at one end of the longhouse its aperfect choice if you enjoy nature. This time of the year... More

This is a lovely place about half an hour south of Miri. It is in a beautiful setting, the food is lovely - and the owners are very welcoming. This is a great place to relax, is a 10 minute walk to the beach and is well placed for day trips to Lembir National Park and Niah caves. I love... More

At the end of our three week Sabah/Sarawak adventure we rolled into the TreeTops to find an amazing peaceful place - perfect for three nights of relaxation 30 minutes away from the hot bustling metropolis of Miri (4 MYR by bus away). Much better than staying in the city!! The beach is only a short 10 minute walk away...great place... More

Borneo is full of bugs, so the giant spider in our room is a natural thing, but it was immortal ;) The staff/owners (English Pilot and a Malay women) was very nice and help full. Ask them for a guy Mr. Chua (driver) that can take you to the caves etc. he was so nice and help full we really... More

A simple and peaceful owner-operated lodge about 20km south of Miri. The rooms are either longhouse lodge style or else more like a simple motel room in the main building with fan, AC and private bathroom. There's a small pool, and lovely tropical gardens with heaps of fruit and vegetables - the same ones you'll find in your dinner. Meals... More
