I was told that this hotel is the best in Sandakan and I was not disappointed. The front office was very friendly and helpful. The room was big and spacious with a king-sized bed as requested. As it is not a new hotel, the wear and tear is inevitable but it was clean and quite well-maintained. Coffee, tea, drinking water,... more

Stayed here for one night on business. I was told that this is the best hotel in Sandakan. Check-in was a breeze although I had to bring my luggage to the room myself. Not a big problem. I had a king-sized bed in a room that overlooked the swimming pool. Room was fairly well maintained with signs of wear and... more

Excellent hotel surrounded by Borneo's north-eastern rain forest. Rooms are very good but the hotel facilities are excellent. We enjoyed the large size pool with surrounding flowers and waterfall. Only issue was the waterfall slide was for children 13 years and younger - I would have loved the short ride. Breakfast buffet will please all ages and we had a... more

We stayed in an executive suite which i think was a mistake as the cost of it (around £70, which was more than a 5 star place we stayed at in KK) led us to certain expectations. We were therefore, a little disappointed. The place is a bit dated, the rooms not very stylishly decorated. The service is not great... more

After several nights in the jungle this was a much needed bit of luxury! We only had one night there but we wish we could have stayed longer. The room was large, very comfortable, huge bathroom, big TV, kettle etc. Ask for a room on a higher floor as there are lovely views over the pool and jungle beyond. Pool... more

We stayed in this hotel because we thought we would need some luxury for three nights after living jungle style. However, one would have been enough. The hotel is more three star than four. Our room was clean and comfortable with a bath and shower, tea and coffee making facilities, tv and hairdryer. There are two restaurants, a gym, outdoor... more

We stayed for one night on our way to Sepilok and Danuum Valley so weren't at this hotel for very long. However, we had an excellent meal when we arrived at a restaurant overlooking the pool, the swimming pool was large and very attractive and the room was not outstanding but nice. Breakfast was only average but overall I think... more

This hotel is located some distance out of the city centre, so your own transport is recommended. However, it is located in a lush green hillside, surrounded by trees and overlooking a forested valley. The decor is very 60's, but clean and relatively well maintained. We stayed in the Borneo Wing, which gave ground floor, small rooms with only a... more

A few people on here have noted that he hotel is showing its age, and that is true. The important things are there though. The staff are pleasant, helpful and proffessional. The rooms are a good size and have everything you need including a view out into the forest. The food was very good. I stuck to the rule of... more
