What a truly delightful place to stay. It is within easy walking distance of the Orangutan rehabilitation centre which means you can visit twice in a day to see the morning and afternoon feedings. We stayed for one night nad chose a cheaper room with fan (booked in advance via e-mail). Paid MYR 69 for a double room with breakfast (plus MYR 5 deposit for a room key returned at the check-out). visited in April 2013 and was very impressed with the friendly service and the variety of wildlife in the area.....I would definitely come back. The room was clean, tidy and above all quiet....I really needed a calm and relaxing week.

“great location, but dated!”

If you want to go the Orang-Utan centre, this place is great. Other than this, it is a bit old. Breakfast was simple, not many choices, they have noodle soup, fried noodle and toast with jam, tea and coffee. The setting is nice, very green. My daughter liked the kids pool.

I decided to try Sepilok Jungle Resort, rather than staying in Sandakan, due to its proximity to the Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre. Never again. Tourist Trap!!! "Cheap" is the key word here. If that's what your looking for, then by all means, stay here.
