Exactly as expected from helpful reviews! Rustic hotel but part of the 'adventure'. Monkeys jumping on roof of room one night. It must have been a lovely resort when first built. A good location if not in room too much. They give you water in room which is good. Aircon good and wifi worked in our block by swimming pool.... More

We have stayed in Sepilok for two nights. Pros: great location, next to the Orangutans and Sun Bears, beautiful surrounding, rooms cleaned every day (new towels, two bottles of fresh water) Cons: rooms so-so (but for 76RM we didn't expect luxury), pool costs extra 5RM (but we were aware of that), wi-fi only in the restaurant. Overall, a nice place... More

the Good: great location close to Orangutans. Staff are pleasant and helpful. Walkways around resort are great and scenery, plantlife and water views are great. The bad: we booked a Deluxe bedroom, nothing about it was deluxe, sheets were threadbare , don't think it had seen a paintbrush for an eternity. No cold water in tap and an electric shower... More

Having read some of the previous reviews of this property I was wondering what we would find when we arrived. Now we've stayed there I'm somewhat puzzled as to what the problems were. We received nothing but fabulous service from Imelda and friends on reception , nothing was too much trouble, arranging taxi's and tours. Our room was fine, the aircon... More

Our superior room was a disgrace we didn't expect much but a shower that worked and a hand basin that wasn't chipped and dirty would have been good. The electric lights all had tape holdings them together . We did have a balcony which was were we sat rather than in the room. The food was basic but okay. The... More

A good, clean, well priced and very welcoming base when visiting the Sepilok attractions. The staff here will go out of their way ( if approached with a bit of respect and good manners ) to look after you and can easily organize side trips to the Kinabatangan River and Danum Valley to get up close to real wild life

I was a bit worried from the other reviews about what the condition of the room and property might be. I thought it was cute in a funky, tropical fantasy kind of way. Not luxurious or well-maintained -- the sink in the bathroom had been painted and the paint was all chipped off -- but clean and comfortable and cute.... More

we booked a tour with STW Adventure with the first night at the Sepilok jungle resort. We asked for pick up at the airport of Sandakan (35 RM per person), it took us about 30 min to get to the resort. Friendly staff, the room was ready when we arrived at 8:30am which was sweet. Room was acceptable, basic comfort,... More

We stayed in this"resort" as part of a small organised tour. The previous reports that is old and tired are true. The rooms are dark and dampish and the air con had one temperature. HOWEVER our tour was so well priced, we really didn't expect too much and we were 5 minutes walk to the orangutan and sunbear sanctuary. Most... More

Our AC room was old, tired and very dark and dingy with no outside sitting area and the bathroom was shocking. It had a tiny TV with 3 local channels so totally pointless. We didn't find the staff to be friendly and, as we were to find out that evening, quite surly. Cost 105MYR - lousy value. It does have... More
