We stayed at this hotel for one night on 20th Oct 09. The rooms were old fashioned, smelly and not worth the money. Good things first - very pretty gardens and location. Bad things - the Banana Leaf Restaurant (and rooms). Both my sister and I had the same meal there on the night of the 20th - we were... more

The local municipal council and health department go to the resort and check our hygiene and cleanliness very often and i am proud to say that we are rated A for it. the certificate is hanging on the wall I am so sorry that you have stomach ache but I have checked and investigate and found that there is one...

STW arranged a tour for me and as a single person it is hard to find someone that will cater for one and they usually want to charge you more. I found the staff all friendly and the room clean, the air con worked very well and I slept very well. Enjoyed all the food and even had a great... more

Stayed here for two nights maily because we wanted to be near the Sepilok orangutan sanctuary. The location for this is excellent as it is only a three or four minute walk away. Our room we were given upon arrival was leaking water quite significantly. However, when I told the reception staff they were very quick to apologise and ensure... more

We stayed in this place for 8 days in October. We weren't expecting miracles, as we had chosen the cheap standard room with aircon, but the room was even worse than our expectations. There was no railing in the wardrobe to hang our clothes up, and we wouldnt have wanted to use it anyway as it absolutely stank of mould/mildew/something... more

As mentioned in our websites, we have many types of rooms available at the resort catering for the backpackers all the way to the deluxe room. Because of that, breakfast options served in the resort depends on the type of room the guests are staying. As for the tours, yes it is ok to arrange at the resort but just...

I have such mix feelings about this place! Some of the comments I've read on trip advisor do not reflect our experience of the place. Such as the staff; we found the staff perfectly pleasant, friendly and helpful. Our experience was overall good, however it was spoiled by one bad meal. We stayed at Sepilok Jungle Resort and took advantage... more

FIrst of all, thank you for choosing to stay with us. Our local municipal council and health department do come to the resort to monitor the Resort's hygiene and cleanliness. The resort is rated A and it shows that we are clean and have passed all the requirements. We have a certificate hanging on the wall and every restaurant in...

As suggested in the title, hotel is quite dated, smelled like my granny's house. They charged us extra for using the pool and sunloungers, which is a very annoying thing to do to paying customers. They also had renovation work going on the tin roof over our heads during the day which was really noisy, and they never warned us... more

We are charging RM5.00 for 30 minutes for internet usage because we are located in the jungle and there is a lot of maintenance charges to maintain the telephone line and internet line. However, if you have your own laptop, it is free of charge and the reception and restaurant has got Wi Fi connection. Once again, sorry for the...

I've stayed in several places in Malaysia when backpacking a few years ago, I certainly wouldn't consider myself fussy. The SJR is set in the most beautiful setting with a lovely lake and wooden walkways. There's a really nice pool too. It's also conveniently located a short walk from the Orangutan rehab centre. Despite these wonderful features, the place is... more

We are doing some upgrading and renovation at the Resort now to give guests better atmosphere when staying with us. So guests can have better room. Our receptionist will inform all our guests that this is going on upon check in. I am sorry that you have to endure the noise but in order for us to complete the task...

Welcoming, helpful, clean. The gardens are a delight and provided more visible birdlife than we saw anywhere else. Food was good. Not the cheapest but nowhere near as overpriced as Sutera Sanctuary Lodges. Shower & aircon worked well. Information plentiful and proximity to Sepilok Reserve fantastic (night walks can be walked to!). Our last stay in Borneo, and redressed the... more

The Sepilok Jungle Resort was the most expensive, and least nice place we stayed during our 12 day trip to Malaysia. We payed 150 ringgits for a dark, basic room with air conditioning. The room was pretty grim and smelled like mildew. The walls were paper thin, as was the door. You could hear people coughing in the room next... more

I am really sorry about the noise that you have encountered because July and August are peak season and there are a lot of guests staying at the Resort. All our bedsheet is a standard size bedsheet and is able to fit in all mattress nicely. As for the smell, we will definitely look into this matter and see what...

We visited for one night and the accomodation was fine. Very clean room and comfy beds, and thank goodness the air con was very effecitve as it was REALLY hot and humid. The food was fine and adequately priced. Beers were cold! Pool was very good but like another reviewer, felt it a bit steep to charge, albeit a minimum... more
