We had a great time here, so huge thanks to Tom Hewitt at aaborneo.com who sorted it all out for us. The wildlife was incredible - we were lucky enough to see Orang-Utans in the wild, as well as proboscis monkeys, elephants, crocodiles, macaques, langurs etc. . . The guides and staff were fantastic - really knowledgeable and friendly. The... More

We did the 3D/2N Safari to see wildlife. It was absolutely incredible. We saw pygmy elephants on land then swimming the next day. Also saw orangutans, Probiscus monkeys, crocodiles, hornbills, snakes and tons of birds. We did the jungle hike to see the fish that suck on your feet. My son was very amused with that! We booked through Donny... More

The staff showing the animals were not really interested in finding any animals at all. They just followed other people showing animals at the river cruise and showed us nothing during the jungle walk. The chalets were ok but the beds unbelievably uncomfortable. When asked to change the staff gave us a double room without functioning aircon. After asking 5... More

This is the cheapest option for a stay on the Kinabatan river, and, compared to the other options, you get a really good value for your money. The river cruises are just as good as the other lodges (they all use similar boats and go in similar areas). The "jungle hike" was a bit dissapointing to me - I've done... More

We booked the lodge in the backpacker hostel in Sandakan. The hostel gave us the cheapest price. 3D2N including 2 night walks. Accomodation was very good. Ventilated rooms. The food was delicious, also different meals each time. We went to Semporna afterwards and they even arranged the connection with the bus to semporna. Don't hesitate to go to the nature... More

We did the 3D2N tour and we were really surprised with how well it was organised and also how good our cabin was. We were picked up from Sepilok and taken to the lodge. We were a little worried because there were a lot of school children staying there at the time and we were concerned we'd feel like we're... More

We booked a three day trip and from the moment we were picked up at our hotel by our guide Darwis we had the most amazing experience. When we arrived at our lodge we were pleased, it was clean with a good shower and bug free. There was plenty to eat at meal times and the food was home cooked... More

Thank you Hena for your feed back. Yes, the deforestation has to do with the decreased in wildlife in that its habitat is lost. But it also increased chances of sighting since lesser habitat "forced" the abundant of wildlife to be concentrated within a smaller area thus increasing the possibilities of slightly! The Yin and Yan of life, everything thing... More

i hardly ever write a bad review but this is it. We stayed here as part of a package. If I had done my own booking and researched I would have gone elsewhere. Check Agoda reviews! Most riverside jungle lodges are basic and I can't compare but this one was really run down and managed badly. Timber decks and walkways... More

Thank you for your feedback. While you listed that you are not happy with the Lodge, no details were given and as such its rather unfair to us since we do not know how to rectify the issue (if any). The accommodation is as per featured on our website. The wooden jetty that you deemed unsafe is constructed using Selagang... More

We stayed for 3D2N and enjoyed every minute. Wildlife wise we got what we expected. We saw proboscis monkey's, a wild Orangutan, hornbills, snakes, eagles, kingfishers, a western Tarsier, a sleeping bird, monitor lizards, macaque's and other monkey's. The only things we didn't see were elephants, crocodiles and big cats. We stayed in the chalet and couldn't really fault it,... More
