Here's what I saw in 4 days: Pygmy elephants (twice) Silver leaf monkeys (twice) Reticulated Python Mangrove snake Monitor lizards Crocodiles (maybe 10) LOADS of Proboscis monkeys LOADS of long tail macaques LOADS of hornbills (several species) We *heard* a Bornean gibbon Sadly, no orangs, but despite coming here specifically to see orangutans, I had a really great time here.... We stayed at the Nature Lodge for 3 days - 2 nights. It was a good deal for the price we paid (much cheaper than other deals in the area) We saw a lot of wildlife during the morning and afternoon boat safaris. We enjoyed the night and day walks, but we had expected to see more mammals during the... More

We did this as part of a 3N/4D package which included spending 1 night seeing turtles on Libaran Island with In-Sabah tours. Great value when done together at 825MYR each which included a fan chalet at the lodge. We saw large crocs, orangutans, proboscis and many other monkey varieties. Plus, pythons, yellow ringed cat snake, lizards, civets, pygmy elephants, tarsiers,... More

I booked my 3 day 2 night package through Harbourside Backpackers where I stayed in Sandakan before and after this trip (which incidentally allowed me to leave my suitcase there while I was in the jungle) and the all inclusive price (cruises, day walk, night walks and food) was way less than I am seeing quoted here. Everything went smoothly,... More

Made the 3D/2N-Tour. Very well organised. Everything from the pick-up to the drop-off went as planned. Stayed in a Civet-Wing hut which is simple, basic but it does the job as you will not sleep very much anyway (with night-walks and early morning cruises) and do not spend time there during the day. It is fan-cooled (it was not hot... More

You can not get anymore authentic than Nature Lodge! You want wildlife? Up close and personal? Come let Nature Lodge take you away. The guides were exceptional, knowledgeable and experienced. They were enthusiastic and reverant at the same time. Personally I stayed an extra three nights as being that cut-off from the outside world and in a total jungle habitat... More

A bit late I am afraid as we were there back in October, but the memory is till fresh in my mind. I was with my son who is a keen herpetologist and has been out in far east for 3 years and has accumulated an amazing amount of knowledge of animal species during tis time. We did the 3D/2N.... More

A friend and I were here for 3 days and 1 night. They really make the effort to enhance your chances of seeing the primates you are hoping to see. And we have pretty much seen all the different types out there. We have even seen an orangutan! Yeay! There's a nightwalk, a trekking in the afternoon and several boatrides,... More

We booked a 3 day 2 night tour here with a travel agent, but be warned, it is really only 1.5 days, as you arrive at about 3.30pm on day 1 and leave at 8am on day three, so a bit cheeky to sell it as 3 days. We had a twin cabin (weren't offered anything else, but I think... More
