This hostel was ok. It was very close to the see, you could actually see it from the window. It wasn't very clean, but we still thought it was ok. The road outside our window was very busy with car alarms, traffic jam and food market 24/7. Despite that I could recommend this place for a couple of days. It's... More

Sandakan is quaint and has some really fabulous wildlife sanctuaries within 15 to 30 minutes of the town center. We loved our experiences with Orangutans at Sepilok and the Proboscus and stunning Silver Leaf monkeys at Labuk, so much so we went back again during our brief 4 night stay. However, the Seaview Sandakan budget and backpackers would not rate... More

During our world trip we were in Sandakan last March. We are still not forgetting to write a review about the Lady Nabistul and her great place “Sea View Sandakan Hostel”. Although we didn't stay overnight here, we spent about two weeks at her place. When we were there we were invited by Lady Nabistul to go for a firefly... More

We stayed at Seaview for a week and I can honestly say that I have never felt more at home in hotel than I did here! There is a wonderful cafe on the top floor which serves an incredible pumpkin curry and you even get free syrup pancakes for breakfast! Laundry is also free if you stay for 3 nights.... More

After staying in the dirty, dingy, old hostels of KK city SEAVIEW HOSTEL was a WONDERFUL break! I called and arrived very late ate night with 2 others i recruited on the Bus over, we were greeted by Emy with warm smiles, welcoming tea drinks and delicious fresh fried bananas. The rooms were clean and bright, the sheets and towels... More

Great place to stay to base yourself before and after the kinabatangan river experience. The staff was amazing, always so happy to see us. They were very helpful and we organised a scooter to ride to see the sun bear, war memorial and orangutan sanctuary. All a very easy day trip :) You MUST try the special pumpkin curry in... More

We didn't stay in the hotel itself but we were taken on a FIREFLIES tour by the manager; Nabistal, who is lovely, kind and very welcoming. She takes you on this boat up the river where you look for proboscous monkeys and lizards and then watch the fireflies come out at night! Once the tour is over you go back... More

The staff could not have been more friendly. The beds were clean and comfortable with hot showers. Right between the Sheraton and Central Market it has a nice quiet location. They do tours to all the major attractions, though I didn't go with them because I was there just to rest a few days.

The staff is very friendly, no problem to check in a bit early or to check out a bit late. We stored are suitcases a couple of days during a trip. The lady boss will pay a lot of attention to sell her trips. A bit too much. We arranged everything on our own. It is not hard to do,... More
