this is a great place to stay in the jungle and it is much cheaper than the other similar alternatives. The staff are incredibly friendly and wlecoming and they clearly have a lot of knowledge of the surrounding areas. The accomodation is quite basic but fine ( after all it is the jungle) and the food is lovely - freshly... More

A fantastic relaxing place to stay on the Kinabatangan River. Only accessible by boat and a warm welcome on arrival. We were lucky enough to also be welcomed by 7 orphaned baby wild boar, giant monitor lizard, pygmy squirrel and troupe of Macaque passing through before we reached our room! Good clean en suite room with mozzie nets on windows... More

We chose the KJC mainly because it had such good reviews on Tripadvisor and I have to say that we weren't the slightest bit dissapointed, actually I think we couldn't have done any better. We were picked up as promised, transferred to the camp, got a room right away and everything just worked. It was pouring down with rain when... More

Nature at its best here at KJC. Environmentally friendly lodge right in the heart of Borneo. Great hospitality, and the staff knowledgeable and passionate about the preservation of the rivers wildlife and ecosystems. We got to see wild orangutan, pygmy elephant, boar, reptiles, birds and an array of monkey species including proboscis, silver tail and macaques. Our guides Eve and... More

I can't compare other jungle places in the region but I absolutely fell in love with this place.... you only get there by boat and it feels in the middle of nowhere! Mr Roberts (the owner) and his staff (inlcuding Fida) are excellent... they made the effort to learn our names and they were the first to help spot and... More

I have to say - I didn't get any other price comparisons, as this was recommended by a friend (and when that happens, I usually just roll with it). So I can't comment too much on value. The guides were brilliant - you'll never believe the things they will spot from incredible distance and in obscured locations. We didn't see... More

The brochure say Jungle on a shoestring & it certainly lived up to that. Brilliant service, tours, guides and we were right in the thick of the malaysian jungle, at half the price of others. We saw crocodiles, snakes, numerous probiscus & maques monkeys, lizard, birds and heaps of wildlife. The food was great and the accommodation although bare were... More

Great service, good standard, people nice and friendly, good food, guides know what to look for - a great experience! Stay at least 2 nights, go trekking and do the river cruises. Room was high standard with fan, rated after jungle standards, as a high standard romantic couple we have no problems recommending this resort. Bring your camera, you will... More

My family spent 2 nights here in May and loved it. As other reviewers have noted, if you're looking for Western 4-star luxury, forget it. In fact, if you're looking for a 3-star room, I'm probably going to look at you funny and ask what exactly you expected from a jungle camp in the middle of Borneo. This is not,... More

We came to Kinabatangan Jungle Camp in June (2 day/2 night package) and had a fantastic time. This place is all about the people and the wildlife and we would recommend it to anyone (we loved the food too). Thanks very much Robert, Fida and team for your hospitality and for giving us an unforgettable experience. Lim was our guide... More
