This is the place to stay if you want to dive and be assured of a permit for Sipadan. It is a lovely resort with all the enormous bungalows suspended over the water, and connected by wooden walkways. You can watch fish, turtles, gar, flying fish and rays from your ocean-view deck or snorkel about the sand bar below. But, there... More

Amazing, peaceful, relaxing...this place is the best of the best for locations, for photographs, diving, or even just sitting about in the hammocks surrounded with crystal clear waters with a book and the occasional swim. If there was two things i would improve 1. Would be the food, there is not enough served for the amount of people, it runs... More

Magnificent place indeed. Rooms are spacious and opens out nicely to the sea. No airconds though so be prepared. We brought portable fans and it helped. There are ceiling fans in the room. We have stayed both in Kapalai and Mabul Water Bungalows. For divers we suggest Kapalai. The dive center is top notch, dive guides are very good and... More

What an amazing place - it felt like we were in paradise. As you approach the resort you are truly in the middle of the ocean and it is beautiful - clear water, turtles swimming freely around you, ocean for as far as you see..... The bungalows are nicely presented in traditional style with your own personal space and views... More

This was booked through our usually travel agent who very rarely puts us wrong, but this place is amazing! Fantastic staff who go out of there way to look after you,the dive operation is well run with great crew and the girls on the towel and tea desk are very friendly. You would only go here if you were a diver... More

The hotel staff responds really quick to any queries and emails. Giving them a call is also a quick way to iron out any details and they are very friendly and patient. I flew into Tawau and took a taxi to Semporna. As my flight arrived mid day, I could not make it for the last shuttle speed boat to... More

People come here for super luxury resort style vacation will properly be very disappointed. This is not that kind of resort, not even close. However, i will rate it 5 star as a dive resort with comfort and amenities adequate for a divers. Dive centre are well run with high ratio of staffs vs divers. You never have to lift... More

Most unique resort that we have ever visited, super friendly staff. Absolutely loved our stay. I would recommend for a dive resort though that it should have a dive shop that supplies spares and accessories for diving, and also maybe a day spa. The only thing that we found really annoying was that there was a lot of very young... More

THe diving at Sipadan island is fabulous. It looked as if the resort Kapalai is the best of the resorts in the area. The biggest downside is the lack of air conditioning. The food is plentiful and mostly Asian cuisine. Whatever the drawbacks of the resort may be, they are offset by the amazing diving. I have "been around" and... More

Whenever I meet a new experienced scuba diver I ask "where is the best place you've ever been diving?" One friend that spent a year traveling the world as an itinerant diver and now manages a dive resort in the Caribbean responded "Sipidan." Later he set up a trip to the island my wife and I decided to join him.... More
