This was a lovely treat after a week of jungle trekking. Stunning island and crystal clear waters. We do think the price is pretty steep for what you get from the resort itself through; pretty much the same food every day/night plus any activities (spa/snorkelling) cost extra. The rooms are to a good standard but nothing spectacular. There is also... More

We spent 3D2N in Pom Pom Island. The beauty of the island is simply mesmerizing. I could not believe the tranquility that we experienced. The sealife is abundance and water was so clear. We were so happy we could give this experience to our son, who is so used to the hustle and bustle of KL. The resort was simply... More

We really enjoyed our time at Pom Pom, which is a little slice of heaven. The villas were spacious and generally private and clean, the food was good (really quite good considering it's an island!), the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The snorkeling trips were great, and the highlight of our whole Borneo trip was going snorkeling in Sipadan... More

I stayed at this lovely place for 7 nights and had a wonderful time. Diving was great and the dive center is professional. I felt very safe. i had no luck by getting a permit for Sipadan - too sad about it. I had the beach villa and I have to confirm all is very clean and nice furnitures. unfortunately... More

We had a wonderful time at Pom Pom! The accommodations were ok and the food even better. Francis my junior diver did some coral rehabilitation activity with them. Mataking was nearby and that was a beautiful place and they had militants with us who went with us to sipadan, I guess for our safety to be sure. We'll be back... More

Like the other reviews I also found out about the security issues just before my departure. The island take security very seriously, however I was happy to be on the island in one of the beach villas. Snorkelling and scuba diving was the best of my life. We were escorted everywhere off the island by two security guards. I was... More

As we booked we already knew about what happened on Pom Pom, and in the surroundings. In this situations you would like to be informed about this by your resort how ever Pom Pom has chosen not to do so :-(( no word about bad things, strange! The Resort is on a small Island (40 minutes walk around) surrounded by... More

Let's start with the positive: this is just a great spot in the world. Beautiful weather, clear waters, a pretty (and daily cleaned - which is necessary in this part of the world as people see the sea as their garbage bin) beach, a fine resort and great snorkeling and diving (sea turtles guaranteed!). But as you can read in... More

Only a few days before our trip to Pompom island we learned about the kidnappings which have been taking place in the Semporna area (but of which nothing was mentioned on the website of the resort). This included Pompom island where apparently a Taiwanese man was killed and his wife kidnapped while staying in a water bungalow in November 2013.... More
