We stayed with seaventures for 4N5D courtesy of a wedding present and loved it! I'm still dreaming of sea turtles, jack fishes and reef sharks! The experience would not have been the same without the stellar staff on board the seaventures rig - Jonathan the rig captain, Marco and Mark our divemasters who guided my husband and I through our... Had a fantastic time on the Seaventures Rig with my wife for a 4 day/3 night trip, which included 2.5 days of diving, one of those on Sipidan. The Rig experience is definitely something different, and while we weren't expecting 5 star accom (we stayed in a double room) the rooms could certainly do with a refurb, particularly the bathrooms.... I just left the rig this morning and I wanted to write the review while all the information is as fresh in my mind as possible. If you're considering going and want the short version I say definelty book Seaventures. I'll break down some specifics below, including complaints I've seen other guests post. First of all it is on an... More

My girlfriend and I spent six days on the rig, and enjoyed some spectacular diving around Sipidan and Mabul. It was a bit quiet during our stay, and we were able to get park passes four out of the six days we were there. As it understand it, this is pretty uncommon for most outfits. It's a cool place to... As the only oil rig resort in the world, it was definitely a unique experience to stay on an isolated platform in the middle of the sea. The rooms are well kept and clean. The facilities such as the games room, which has a pool table, a ping pong table, a darts board and even an XBox 360 is available.... More

I have spend two nights at Seaventures in November 2014 to go diving at Sipadan. The two days of Sipadan have some of the best dives I have done so far (180 dives). Seaventures it self has good food and the staff is very accommodating. Only the rental dive gear was a bit run down so better bring your own.

If diving is not your priority, this place is not for you. If diving IS your priority, this place is awesome. Truly unique being on the rig, it's well-run, the dive masters are great (special call-out to Brige), staff is friendly/helpful (special call-out to Najib), and the diving itself is great! Good food, good rooms...but not a luxury resort. If... More

If you are planning to dive Sipadan (and every diver should), this is the ONLY place to stay. Any real diver would not like the resorts on Mabul Island, which put you in an overpriced, cushy joint catered to the beach set within mere feet of the island residents who struggle to make ends meet, staffed by lesser-qualified dive crews.... The rig is comfortable enough and functions well as a dive centre. It's all very well organised. The rooms are getting a bit tatty but they're fine if all you want is somewhere to sleep, you're not really going to be spending much time there. The diving was incredible. I enjoyed the local Mabul dives, but the Sipadan trips were... More
