It's a revisit. decided to have an overnight getaway with the family and thought of bringing my little one for a 'cold' experience so decided to pay this place a visit. the town itself has been refurbished. could see that the community made an effort to renovate the buildings and also parks around the place. sadly, this little smokehouse, hasn't... Spend a weekend at the Fraser’s Hill Smoke House, stayed in the New Haven Suite. All the suites are located on the 1st floor of the main building, with the dinning area, reading lounge, TV room, waiting lobby and bar on the ground floor. The normal rooms are located on the adjacent building. It is an old British colonial house,... More

Stayed here for 2 nights recently and whilst it is certainly a relaxing & charming place to stop it needs some renovations. on a positive note the staff are very friendly and the food is good ( if you want olde English fare). Rooms are spacious but you can't help getting the feeling that the building needs some love &... More

Stayed one night in a surprisingly large standard room with a queen sized canopy bed. The building is charming, but lacks maintenance. It was rather noisy as the rooms were facing the main road. Food at the restaurant was just average and lots of black ants visited the restroom in the morning!

We just came back from a 2 nights stay at this hotel. We had taken the two Halcyon Rooms on the second floor hoping to get a view. Sadly none. The hotel is probably the best in Frasers Hill and by far the most charming. Unfortunately it badly needs renovation and maintainence. The outside walls need a coat of paints,... More

The entry and common areas were the definition of "shabby chic" so we were temporarily impressed. After just a few minutes in the room we noticed all the mold, rusty nails, torn furniture, stained linens, sprung mattress, dirty ledges and more but we thought we could stand it. What drove us out was the toilet got completely covered in ants... More

For RM385 per night, I would expect something better. The place had the old time charm, for sure. But the service level was inconsistent. Sometimes we had to ask for things twice or three times. Hot water is available until 11pm only. There wasn't notice regarding that. I started filling my tub at about 10-ish hoping for a late night... More

Authentic old style decor but in need of some TLC. Ants in the bathroom which has been referred to a number of times in other reviews. Appreciated all the charm of a bygone era but the food was not good enough for the prices and although a reasonable choice of wines were offered they were outrageously expensive - the cheapest... The Ye Old Smokehouse hotel in/on Fraser Hill was a pleasant surprise for us. We've been away from Europe over 6 months now and the hotel just gave us the feeling of being back. The hotel/hill was covered in clouds / mist for 3 days, but that made the whole atmosphere very cosy and mistirious. The staff was very friendly... More

I stayed at The Smokehouse with a friend for two nights from 5th November 2009. Having read all the other posts I agree with most of the comments. It’s a lovely spot marred simply by a lack of maintenance, although the staff work hard to keep the place clean and your stay comfortable. My room was damp and musty which... More
