Negative reviews I read about Smokehouse Fraser’s Hill really does not do justice to this awesome hotel. We stayed there for one night in the family suite on 22 June 2014 and were pleasantly surprised on how wonderful this hotel is. The service throughout our stay was excellent. It is an old colonial style building but rooms and facilities were... More

We stayed here for 3 nights. The grounds and setting are really lovely with nice view of mountains and there is an interesting history to the place. However, like much of Fraser's Hill, the place is a but run down and in need of significant renovation to rooms and baths. The main building is a rambling warren of period sitting... More

Built in the 1920s, this hotel is actually nearly a hundred years old. Stepping into this beautiful historical British style building really make you feel like travel back in time. Everything here is well preserved and you'll be amazed with all the neatly arranged furniture. Ye Olde Smokehouse has 16 individually furnished suites/rooms, I have a chance to look at... More

stayed at Smokehouse, Frasers Hill for a night (17 May). The Hotel manager was very helpful and patient in attending to our requests. Very cozy hotel and it really gave us a nice, warm and homely feel. The food was fantastic, especially the dessert called "Alaska Bomb", which is amazing. Try it when you are there. The hotel is very... More

the smokehouse is pretty amazing - the building really does take u right back to a bygone colonial age....and the views of the rainforested hills marching into the distance are very good. interior a bit worn....but goes with the historical ambiance. we had no problems with noise, but i could see how rooms on the ground floor could get a... We booked 2 nights in the New Haven Suite which is huge and has a four poster bed. The overall ambience is excellent and you are transported back 50/60 years to another era. Do not go there expecting a slick modern hotel (it is not) but be prepared to relax, chill out and soak up the atmosphere. Yes some of... More

Still the best choice in Cameron Highlands, although showing its age. Oozes charm and history. Friendly, helpful staff. Food is OK, but service can be slow. See the Highlands now--they are changing fast with Dubai-style tower blocks rising quickly over little Brichang.

Living in KL, we went there for the week end. The place looks OK from the outside. But once you step in you start realizing than the house has not been maintain since years. Everything is falling appart, rooms are dirty, painting is craquing everywhere. Window are dirty, seats are dirty. Everything smells a bit bad. Although servers are ok... More

I actually thought I had booked this hotel and discovered I had booked the wrong Old Smokehouse though it was always my intention to come here. I just wanted to say that though we arrived with elderly parents and they had no room to give us (my mistake), the staff were exceptional and telephoned around until they had found us... More

We had booked into the Smokehouse for a 2 night / 3 day break over Chinese New Year. On arrival we were upgraded to the Honeymoon suite due to a minor mix up with another guest staying an extra day or 2. We were happy with the upgrade. Our overall impression of the hotel : exterior :very nice colonial /... More
