Beautiful location. Colonial building from 1924. Built with contributions through the Red Cross as a rehabilitation centre for war veterans, it has been a hotel for more than 60 years. Good views from the hotel and the gardens across the valleys around Frasers Hill. Had a good cream tea for two with scones and Jam as well as a variety... More

Second visit in less than one and half years! Just love this hotel with its warm and vintage deco, like a grand old lady with a touch of elegant. Room is spacious and clean. Great service especially from Mr Kohan. Will definitely be back again!

Pure nostalgia. Both Fraser's Hill and the Smokehouse. Afternoon tea on the terrace with scones and jam is worth the journey up the hill. We stayed in the honeymoon suite and it was great. Wonderful views over the jungle. On our last morning Mr Simon got up early to make us breakfast and wave us off. I first stayed in... More

Beautiful scenery, nice climate, friendly and attentive staff. The hotel, however, has seen better days and is not well maintained. By Malaysian standards, its expensive for what you get. Food was OK, but nothing special. No wi-fi in the rooms and a poor connection in the lobby/bar.

Looking over from the carpark, the old phone booth standing next to the outdoor tea area looks so old school - exactly how I would like Cameron Highlands to look like. We did a walk-in reservation (dinner starts about 7pm) - since we're early. Was then suggested to sit at the garden and enjoy some tea (with pancakes & scones).... More

Check in was swift and easy. The room was clean. I must admit the place is a bit run down but they still try to preserve the heritage. We had the Halcyon Lodge 2 which is on the first floor, the only thing we didn't like about the room was the sound of the water pump that constantly pumps. That... More

Stayed here as a couple for one night in July and to be honest it was one night too long. Don't get me wrong the staff are very helpful and friendly but the whole hotel is in need of a serious renovation. Am sure it was stunning in its day as a little England retreat but unfortunately our room was... More

We had 4 marvellous days here and will book to come again This is 78 year old Typical English Country House and I cannot think of anything bad to say. We had a fantastic suite, very clean and comfortable with plenty hot water. The staff were extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The food was amazing, my only complaint... More

We came to ye olde with our two young children to escape the haze in KL. We were expecting rustic old world charm but what we experienced was something quite different... On the positive side I would say the lunch was lovely (though we had a 45 minute wait), and staff were quite helpful. The location is good and the... More

We've been to the Smokehouse in Cameron Highlands before so thought we'd give this place a shot. The premises itself is very quaint, rustic, feels very old English so if you like that sort of thing, this place is great for a meal (albeit so-so food). To stay there is another story. The room was large in size, but smelled... More
