Extremely kind and helpfull staff, great cooks! Thomas served us great wines, cups of teas, and made very nice coffee!! Anthony, our guide, an extremely good driver, sweet for us guests, he also has a lot off knowledge about the different species, both animal as plants! He spotted a Leopard standing in the tall grass! It was difficult to leave... More

This camp is really a smidge of heaven on the other side of Galana river, 30 km from Mtito Andei: Beautiful, clean and cozy tents, friendly and helpful staff and perfect food. Meera, the managing director, is mostly around and looks for the well-being of her clients. No mass tourism - you really can enjoy your safari in this family-run... More

A lovely place to stop off on the way to or from the coast - or maybe just for the weekend! Meera and the staff were fantastic, the rooms nice and clean - watch out for monkeys! The food was all delicious BUT the highlight was a sundowner trip to the top of the Yata Plateau to watch the sun... More

The camp is in a special area giving you an impression that Tsavo is wet and cool when most of the other lodges are in the heat. This place is special, separate from the masses which is nice. The tents are comfortable and a bit more rustic. I would have given this an excellent rating, but since I got my low... More

Stayed for Christmas Day and Boxing Day (but one night). Where to start... The lodge is beautiful - on a river, really secluded, right in the heart of it! Staff put on a brilliant Christmas meal for us including a turkey! Stuffing! Roast veg! How lovely!! We had 'breakfast in the bush' where you're driven out further along the river... More

A really beautiful place, so calm and peaceful. We drove by road from Nairobi and the journey was very easy, on reaching the camp you have to park the car and hop into a little dinghy to be rowed across the river, it's a lovely touch and really makes you feel like you have left civilisation behind. On arriving at... More

Through a friend I made aware of the Tsavo Safari Camp, located in the Tsavo East National Park in Kenya. Since I havent been there much, I decided to go there for my last trip - I will be leaving Kenya soon. Both the Camp and the Park were a very positive surprise! The staff is more friendly then elsewhere,... More

This is a fantastic location for a safari lodge with lots of potential for many and varied wildlife encounters. There's a fun little crossing by inflatable across the Athi which was a benign, meandering and shallow river after a long dry spell, but it can be a torrent. There's a landing strip as an alternative, and more refined entry point.... More

Many, many years ago, the favourite weekend getaway for many a Nairobean was a unpretentious little riverside camp called by most Nuttar’s in reference to its then charismatic manager; but more correctly called Tsavo Safari Camp. The decay of Kenya’s road infrastructure, plus more attractive and competitive camps nearer to the capital saw its gentle decline and then closure. We... More
