We only had time for one night to rewind from a busy work week, and that turned out perfect! After arriving we enjoyed a 3-course lunch with a nice glass of South African red wine. Then guide Peter took us for a late afternoon walk in thd crater. Great views, not a lot of animals but mainly nice birds. We... More

A jarring ride down what seemed to be the wrong road opening onto a gem of a view. Nice people, outstanding food, and unfortunately poor facilities. The pool had more algae than most swamps; stairs to tents and inside bathrooms were steep and rickety, almost non-existent inside and grounds lighting, and the confusing dichotomy of cold water sinks and scalding... A welcome reward for just a bit of effort. Maili Saba's view and service rivals the top hotels in the world. Very attentive and genuine staff are helpful and welcoming without any of the western faults. It's location is utterly breathtaking, perched on the edge of the Menengai Crater. The tents are tastefully appointed and the meals are well composed... More

Menengai Crater is like something out of another time. There are no structures save Maili Saba overlooking this vast cavern in which you can see the path of lava flows from centuries before--. Maili Saba is a charming tented camp site. Each tent has a porch which overlooks the other-worldly splendour which is the crater (or caldera if you want... More

Had a one week business stay. At first I thought the place is run down but ooh my I had a great 5 day stay. The views are great, the staff are awesome, did I mention that the are spot on and they even go out of the way to make the client happy. I wasn't feeling well and surprise... More

Needed an out of town experience with my wife. Risked it and picked an unknown Mailing Saba. Arrival at night might not be the best idea especially the descend from the main road. However on arrival, the staff, food and soft music at the restaurant were more than lovely. The view of the caldera in the morning was stunning. The... More

Maili Saba is a nice alternative out of Nakuru located on the rim of Menengai crater. Lovely views and good food. Rooms are perfectly fine but you'd want to be good friends with whomever you might be sharing a room with as the bathrooms in the rooms we stayed in had curtains for doors. Would have also have been nice... More

We traveled to Kenya and stayed in 3 luxury accommodations. However, we wanted to see Lake Nakuru and were not able to book a 4th luxury site. We decided to take a chance on the highly rated Maili Saba for 2 nights. We were so glad we did. Please note this is NOT a luxury accommodation but it is personable,... More

Stayed here a couple of nights with my family. The setting is stunning, and the camp has decent facilities. Food was generally very good, especially the soups, with a decent choice, and staff were friendly. Only drawback is the road leading to the camp - it is full of pot holes, making driving to and from Nakuru not the most... More

We stayed at Maili Saba for three nights in early December. The road up to the camp was horrible and currently under repair, but the final destination was very much worth the 7 miles ride up... Service by our hostesses was excellent, the food splendid and the view from our tent was breathtaking. It's a little gem in the middle... More
