Maili Saba is a nice alternative out of Nakuru located on the rim of Menengai crater. Lovely views and good food. Rooms are perfectly fine but you'd want to be good friends with whomever you might be sharing a room with as the bathrooms in the rooms we stayed in had curtains for doors. Would have also have been nice... More

We traveled to Kenya and stayed in 3 luxury accommodations. However, we wanted to see Lake Nakuru and were not able to book a 4th luxury site. We decided to take a chance on the highly rated Maili Saba for 2 nights. We were so glad we did. Please note this is NOT a luxury accommodation but it is personable,... More

Stayed here a couple of nights with my family. The setting is stunning, and the camp has decent facilities. Food was generally very good, especially the soups, with a decent choice, and staff were friendly. Only drawback is the road leading to the camp - it is full of pot holes, making driving to and from Nakuru not the most... More

We stayed at Maili Saba for three nights in early December. The road up to the camp was horrible and currently under repair, but the final destination was very much worth the 7 miles ride up... Service by our hostesses was excellent, the food splendid and the view from our tent was breathtaking. It's a little gem in the middle... More

We stayed at Maili Saba just before the Christmas rush and had a wonderful time. There are so many places in and out of Kenya in game parks that totally forget two things: not all customers are rich and all customers want to enjoy good service. They also want good food! While not the Ritz-Carleton, the service was good and... More

We spent only one night here but went back and forth on the road between the lodge and the park several times - very painful given the awful condition of the road. It is only 7 km but takes forever, given the giant potholes and traffic. The lodge itself offers a stunning view. It has a very small pool, don't... More

We stayed overnight at Maili Saba Camp on our way to Kisumu and what a lovely choice. It sits on the Menengai crater so has spectacular views from all the tents. From our arrival to departure the service was excellent and the food some of the best I have had since being in Nairobi. Tents were clean and bed comfy... More

This was a nice spot to take a group of interns to debrief after spending two months doing humanitarian work in Kenya. The view is magnificent and the food was amazing. The staff was friendly, personal and flexible to accommodate our schedule and needs. The drink prices (soda, water and wine) were a little above average and we did not... More

Service, views, comfort, guided hike- all exceptional. The tents are very comfortable, nights are cool so we loved the foot warmers. The food was delicious and well presented. Dining area was magical at night- a fire, soft lights that glowed, and quiet. The lodge works with a local agency to provide education and experience for locals in the business- great... More
