I had not been to Treetops for several years and was looking forward to my visit curious about the renovation. On arrival in the late afternoon we found a herd of about 30 elephants in front of the lodge. That was of course a great start and it was the highlight of our visit. Apart from that it was a... More

Brilliant place. Excellent food, rooms not large but adequate and because the altitude means it is cold at night they put hot water bottles in the bed - bliss! The main reason for staying here is of cause the wildlife and we weren't disappointed. Before tea we saw buffalo, elephants and warthog. A member of staff stays up all night... More

My wife and I visited Treetops back in 1997. At that time Treetops was much smaller, in much more wilder environment and really a "paradise lost". This time in October 2014 it looks like it has lost a bit of "wildness" (unfortunately) since it seems that habitation have reached much more closer (probably topic to discuss with KWS). Treetops has... More

We had been looking forward to Treetops the most and it didn't disappoint. On arrival we were asked to elite the bus and walk for the last half km.....wow. To walk amongst the water buffalo and warthogs with only a ranger with a gun to protect you really brings it home that you are in the animals environment. On arrival... More

Having stayed at The Ark on several occasions, we decided to try Treetops in October 2014. After checking-in and having a rather plain lunch at Outspan Hotel, we drove ourselves to Treetops, hoping the ambiance would be better there. While a lot of the marketing for Treetops is based around the fact that « Elizabeth II walked up as a... More

What a difference since we last stayed. Every room now has its own en-suite facilities. All rooms over look a waterhole where elephants come to visit at night. A fantastic place to stay you can drift off to sleep with the sound of elephants trumpeting. Staff very accommodating and polite.

Once again my daughter and I stayed here the first night of our safari. As David wrote from his experience the room was small and cramped. I should have asked for a larger one but we were tired from our trip from Nairobi. We also saw the elephants, lions and cape buffaloes. We slept well and thank God we only... More

Our first night in Africa, very exciting but more to come. A room with a view, kept us looking out of the window to see what was below. The lodge was what it appears, quirky but comfortable and the food delicious. I even got up in the middle of the night to see what was outside and didn't mind a... More

This was the first night of our Kenyan safari, the structure is certainly very different from anywhere else but I feel the place is basking in it's previous glory and is a bit dated. The room was quite small and the walls were very thin. Having said that it was incredible to be able to look out of the window... More
