I'm a woman traveling by my own and I arrived spontaneously without booking at the wadi rum village. I found the office of the Bedouin Meditation Camp without any problems, because it's very famous there. It was no problem to book a trip through the dessert and a overnight stay there at the same morning. The price was the best... More

I stayed at the camp for two days and I found my new home in Jordan. Day One: Went on a full day Jeep tour. As June is the beginning of the off-season I had to book the jeep all for myself - a bit expensive for a backpacker. Ahmed, the young energetic tour guide, was excellent and shared a... More

Hope for a good group! We were dropped off at the office at 8:30, and told the tour would start at 10:30. No drinks or warm welcome. The owner seemed very serious! He asked for payment for an entry ticket that was never seen, then quickly explained the itinerary (mentioning that we would arrive at camp at 5pm), then we... More

I heard about this camp from a friend of mine. The camp was okay. We went in October so it was pretty cold at night, but they provided us with the world's warmest blankets that's for sure. Dinner and the music was good. I went up to the men to strike up a conversation with them to learn a bit... More

I found that this was by far the cheapest desert tour if travelling solo. As a solo female I felt extremely safe the entire time, and did not encounter any issues. I spoke to Zedane over email before travelling to Wadi Rum, and as I was travelling as a solo female and wary of taking taxis alone, he arranged for... More

The start was little confusing. Driver from Wadi Musa dropped us in a car from a driver from the camp. We passed the visitor center and when i asked what about our registration and ticket, he said 'not necessary'. We had no ticket but when we left the camp we had to pay for it. Never saw a ticket. We... More

As was already mentioned - the place is a bit chaotic. We stayed there for one day + night. You have to have good luck, since you might get good guide or you might get just a driver (which will drive you to the camp sooner than is expected). It is good idea to have a sleeping bag, since you... More

If I could use one word to describe the experience in one word I'd use 'chaotic'. Altough booking a private jeep tour with Zedane months before and contacting him via email a few days before we were due, the instructions on where to meet them at what time were very unclear. As Rum village is no more than a ramshackle... More

We took a 2 Day 2 Night package at Wadi Rum Bedouin Meditation Camp. We had some FANTASTIC moments, how can you not when Wadi Rum is one of the most beautiful places? But unlike the other reviewers we had some serious negatives experiences too. Firstly, the good: Jebel Burdah scramble/hike. We climbed up Jebel Burdah on our second day... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Wadi Rum, the magnificent desert in the south of Jordan. Home to my tribe the Heuwaitat for thousands of years. If you are looking for a journey into the desert with a difference, then we can surely help you. We specialize in taking you off the beaten track. In this land you can walk in the footsteps of Lawrence of Arabia and our ancestors. You can trek in the grandeur of the landscape, or relax in the shade of a spring. You can scramble through canyons, take it all in from the back of our Jeep, or travel as we would have on a camel. If you don't have time to experience "desert time" then we can also show you all the highlights of Wadi Rum in a sandstorm of a tour. There is nothing we love more than to share the majestic beauty of our home, Wadi Rum with guests from all over the world. We can host you for the night in our camp in the protected area, with all the amenities (shower, toilets, Bedouin tents, beds, blankets etc). Or if you are feeling intrepid then we can host you in the wilderness under the stars in a Bedouin cave.I cannot describe to you how it feels to be in out in the desert, you are surrounded by all that is natural. You can have a taste of a simple life, a life that does not need luxuries but can exist at one with the environment. For us our nomadic life is one of freedom and the senses, we can listen to the wind, see the stars shining, taste food cooked in the fire and we can touch the shifting sand under our feet.I hope you will join us on one of our tours to experience all this for yourself. ... more   less
