Nice little house with tents set up out back. Great warm feeling. Robi cooked dinner for us in the backyard firepit. Some bedouin friends came by to make homemade pita on the fire and share a meal. We also had two families with us escaping rocket fire in southern Israel. Total 4 kids including our son. Everyone happy, chatty and... More

My stay with Mati and Roni was simply something else. The warmth of this family is hotter than the desert sun! In a beautiful little garden there stands a big tent, decorated beautifully. This is a place to sit and hang out as well as eating delicious food made by Roni. At night it turns in to a cosy camp... More

This is a tent in someone's backyard in the suburban streets of Mitzpe. You hear the morning traffic right outside your room. The kitchen and bathroom is in their adjacent house. Mati is friendly and helpful. Not a great family choice, if you have younger Kids. The Bedouin atmosphere is cute.

A wonderful place in the heart of Mitzpe Ramon. Relax, enjoy the wonderful desert, meet interesting people, eat great food... you'll recognize that there are places left where people truly care about your wellbeing. It wasn't just a place to stay for a night, it was an overall experience. The hosts are very warm people, they'll give you advices for... More

I spent a night at the desert tent and have just now arrived back home - after hearing promises made by the proprieter of possible shower to wash up after a day in the desert, gourmet cooking and comfortable and clean - if Sparten, lodging etc - the promises went in the same path as election promises the day after... The best way to see the desert! I would not recommend for families or people who need more privacy, but for young backpackers on a budget who don't care about sharing a tent with strangers, it's awesome! I was traveling with three friends (all 18 year olds) and we had an incredible time. It's a dirty hippy tent, what can... More

we didnt really know what to expect, and we were kind of surprised to find out the the desert tent is located right in the center of town, in a backyard of the couple's house, which is kind of wierd at first, but both mati and roni are so nice - that you emmidiatly feel like it does not matter... Within an hour of my arrival it felt like I am a part of Mati and Roni's family and know them for ever. They are uniquely interesting and will make you fall in love with the desert. Even the other guest was nice :) The dinner was a bit expensive for me (65 NIS), but Roni is a great cook.... More

The "Desert Tent" is basically a big tent in someones backyard, definitely not a beduin tent. The bathroom as well as the sleeping places are messy and not really clean. The tent is also near a street and you can hear every car/pedestrian passing by. In the shared sleeping area you sleep on the ground provided with a mattress and... More

Staying at Mati and Ronis Guestent was a great experience. It is the cheapest in the area, with a beautiful atmosphere in the Bedouin styled tent, delicious herbal tea, clean bedding and a friendly welcoming family. The meals are amazing and cooked by a chef for a very affordable price. There are SO many free attractions around the area. The... More
