I actually stayed at the Silk Road's sister hotel...the Orient...just across the street, although both are similar. Both are owned by the same man, Ali, who is incredibly warm, friendly and hospitable to his guests. If only there were more hotels in Iran like this! My room was a little small, but spotless, comfortable, well furnished and great value at... more

This was one of the best places we stayed at in Iran. It is a real oasis of calm in among the mudbrick lanes of the old city and really handy for all the sights. The rooms are set around a beautiful courtyard where meals a re served and it is lovely to relax in the evening with a good... more

There's not much to add to previous reviewers as this is one of those places where you get to stay somewhere traditional, enjoy the laid-back vibes and do a bit of sight-seeing. What isn't good, however, is that it can stiflingly hot at night. I stayed during April which was already quite hot during the day, and very stuffy indoors... more

The best choice of accommodation in Yazd. It’s a restored traditional house located in the historical center of Yazd. The rooms have traditional style, there are clean and cool. The food is very good and the staff is helpful. At hotel’s busy yard you meet other passengers and take useful information and have fun. more

Silk Road Hotel is a traditional type of caravan serai, in the middle of the old town of Yazd. It is the best choice if you want to get into the mood of the once-upon-a-time caravan travellers. Silk Road Hotel is in fact three small hotels, in walking distance from one to another and have the same design: a big... more

Best place I stayed in in Iran. Friendly and flexible management, it's easy to become a part of the family. Kitchen is great, also breakfast. A very good deal in wintertime, I paid 14$ for a doubleroom, the guys at the dorm payed $4. And the location is superb. Do not doubt for a second: stay here while in Yazd. more

The hotel is a meeting point for overland budget travellers, travelling though Iran or on to Pakistan. Staff is very friendly and the food served in the courtyard is good. The rooms are small but adequate, with attached bathroom. The aircon was working but farily loud. Room prices turned out to be about 30 % more than advertized on their... more

I stayed there with friends in October 2006. That's a lovely small karvan-saray, which is repaired to be a hotel. The visitors stay in real small rooms, like in old time the travellers did, so you can really feel the atmosphere of old Persia. the hotel is small, full of flowers. They also have a good restaurant inside the hotel... more
