My 2 day itinerary in yazd turned into a 5 day stay at the Kohan hotel. I really enjoyed my stay and decided to extend my trip . Kohan hotel is located in the old city of yazd, and it is a very charming old traditional building with a beautiful courtyard in the middle .. Even if it is located... More

We tried Silk road hotel first, but didn't feel welcome in the early morning. So we went to Kohan hotel. The people who work here are very friendly and helpful. We could use the breakfast after early arrival which was 50.000 rial per person. (they didn't mention this, but with check out we had to pay) The breakfast is simple.... More

I had planned on staying at the Silk Road Hotel, but since that was fully booked, I ended up at the nearby Kohan Hotel - and I am very, very happy about that. Although it had previously not been my first choice - Kohan was the nicest place I stayed at during my entire three-week visit of Iran. The staff... More

Although I did not stay here myself (but at the smaller, nearby Kourosh Hotel) I've had tea at the Kohan Hotel and truly loved it. They have an amazing view from the roof (the manager told me it is the highest viewpoint from the innercentre of Yazd), badgirs and waterplaces, a very green and beautiful courtyard with bougainvillea and goldfishies... The location is fantastic and the food in the courtyard whilst the standard Iranian menu is good. Our room in the courtyard at the back was small with no cupboard space. The basin taps did not work and the power point hung from the wall.I eventually repaired the door lock myself. Building works were underway [late Oct]but general maintenence has been neglected.The... More

Really enjoyed the Kohan. Solo traveller, I was given a room across the courtyard which opened out onto a smaller courtyard. You could open the full length doors to bring in more light and air into the room. The room was small but perfectly adequate. 2 twin beds that were firm (my preference anyway), nice clean linen and adequate number... More

Kohan hotel is a really nice hotel , with a lovely court yard, nice lobby, BUT... Recently they transformed the upstairs dorm in three dark, ugly rooms which are simply horrible. We got one of the rooms, and saw the others. The walls were unplastered, paper thin and no day light enters the room. Two windows to the hall could... More

A great courtyard in a beautiful old building. perfect for relaxing during hot days. Butterflies flying around, birds are bathing in the water, two pigeons are in love (at least this september)....and free tea all the time :). The dormitory room is nice as well. For trips around the city (for example to the towers of silence or the terminal),... More

This is a good choice in Yazd. A hotel in a traditional merchant house, with a very nice courtyard. In contrast to other hotels, I also ate dinner there twice and found the food to be very good (confirmed by my Iranian guide). I did not have a smartphone so cannot comment on internet speed/connectivity in the rooms, but could... More

I've been in yazd for a couple of days. As you know, incredibly hot and this place was like heaven. Fresh patio, cozy benches and nice place to eat. The terrace it's particularly incredible by night. So quite and beautiful. Then the guys at the receptions are really welcoming and great great dancers ;) Really hope to come back soon!
