We checked into their new family room (1 king-sized bed + 1 single bed) with a small lounge area. The room was clean and spacious although lacking in amenities like coffee-making facilities, refrigerator, and safe. The swimming pool was very close by but the water was cold given the cool weather. Food at the restaurant was average but affordable. The... More

Haven't been to other cottages/resorts but so far so good. This cottage seems like the second last places beside toledo inn, i would say we have a comfortable stay despite all the miscommunications. Henry was very helpful in arranging transportation and day tour. The place is renovating hence the room was very dusty. The swimminh pool is nice enough to... More

This is one of the many hotels on the Tuktuk peninsula. They have a swimming pool, several spots to chill out during the day, a huge restaurant... They also have their local Batak band and dancers on most evenings. We had a room with lake view and hot water. It had no fringes but I was quite satisfactory. The bathroom... More

Spend two nights here. Great spot on the lake. You can use the swimmingpool from another hotel, 10min.walk. you can always swim in the lake, big rock underneath to stand on half way into the cold water. They have a show on fridaynight. Nice but simple.

We booked 3 rooms and lucky enough we get the room with the lake view. The panoramic view was splendid and you can even dive-in and swimming there! The room were neat and simple, with a large bathroom space. The air were a bit cooler especially in the evening and in the morning. The shops and restaurant located nearby are... More

There are plenty of reviews about the problems here, so I think saying don't bother suffices. But read on for details. My biggest problem came at the start and really ruined the place for me. At the ferry before going to the island they have the most aggressive tout I've ever seen, and I lived and worked on a tourist... More

We stayed 4 nights. The place is quite big and turistic, we liked it when it was quieter the first 2 nights...then it filled up with Indonesian tourists staying there for the Easter break. The room are big and so the bathrooms. We had hot shower which was really a luxury after 2 weeks :) It was impressive the absence... More

We booked two nights with samosir cottages via their own websites reservation system the day before arrival. Without Internet while traveling to lake toba we arrived on the last ferry in the middle of a thunderstorm to be told they didn't have the booking and were full. We then asked if they could point us to somewhere close so that... More
