If you are staying in Palankaraya, you should definitely stay here, even if it's only for one night. Thomas and Beatrice are very nice, and they can help you out with anything. They build this whole place themselves. The cabins are made of wood, and there is a nice garden and also a small natural pool. Breakfast, lunches and dinners... More

Why stay in a bland, faceless hotel when you could enjoy the unique experience of Bukit Raya guesthouse, at a fraction of the price? Thomas and Beatrice are Swiss, but have lived in Indonesia for many years and and their love of the place ispalpable. They speak Indonesian, German and English. They could not have been more helpful to us... More

I have stayed at Bukit Raya twice - and both were a very nice stay indeed. I experienced that it is quite hard to find Bukit Raya on my first visit since it is located a bit remote from the main street. The place is really nice and natural, and the dogs are really cute. They also have a traditional... More

Very friendly people who helped us plan an book our tour and stay in Central Kalimantan. Thanks a lot for your support! We booked the standard room which was very basic and just okay in size for two peoples luggage. The bed isn't very comfortable and the soft mattress is wider than the bed. The fan runs with a timer,... More

Thanks to our FB friend & guide as well, Kornelius Agustinus for introducing us to this very unique and spectacular masterpiece of Mr Thomas. How we wished we had more time to spend in this GH but most of the time we had to be either on the road or checking out all the tourist attractions that Kornelius had to... More

Thomas, Rietje and Hans are just soooo helpful. I've never experienced anything like it. Whether it was organising a guide for a number of fully customised trips to record bird and nature sounds, arranging meetings with musicians, help with transport or tips for food, these guys were always eager to share their passion for Kalimantan and help wherever they can.... Was in town for a conference and stayed at the SwissbelHotel the first two nights and then switched to Bukit Raya Guesthouse. I would definitely stay at the Guesthouse if I find myself in Palangka Raya again. Thomas is a wonderful host and I am very tempted to join one of his great motorcycle expeditions! He also arranged, on short... More

It is pretty rare these days that you walk into a place filled with strangers but within a few hours feel like you are at home. The hosts are very genuine, friendly down to earth caring people and you immediately feel very safe and relaxed when staying here. The rooms are basic but clean but the ambience very relaxing and... Yes, we're very thankful that our guests like it here! The nature around us is lovely. We are glad that also the hammock, which is in the tree hut, is so appreciated. If you, reader, want to come to Palangka Raya, the capital of one of Indonesian Borneo's provinces, you ar more than welcome to come and take a look! More

These feelings are important to us. Guests need the feeling of oasis and we are glad to be able to help them with this. Moreover, if something is different... More
