Stayed here while on the way to Halong Bay on an Intrepid tour. Room was okay but the restaurant was fairly ordinary. My plate of squid with onions and spices included rubbery squid and no detectable spices. Still, Ninh Binh is not noted for great restaurants, so you may not do any better elsewhere, and the staff were friendly. What... More

This was the second time that we stayed at the Thuy Anh hotel. We stayed in the rooms at the back of the hotel so we had access to the elevator. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. We stayed during the low season so the hotel was virtually deserted. The hotel was understaffed and the food wasn't the best... More

This hotel has offered me and my mum an outstanding service since the minute 1: the welcoming, the people, the small details that make you feel like home! Candy (Van in Vietnamese) took care of us like if she were from our family :) If you go to NinhBinh, this is your hotel.

Stayed here for one night so we could get an early start to the caves and temples. The room we had was in the new block (460) and was large and very clean. Unfortunately the 'restaurant' was not good at all. It is located on the ground floor and was very cold - even the staff were blowing on their... More

Located just a few metres off the A1 HIghway, no near-by parking, pleasant & efficient reception, basic lobby of a couch & chair behind the elevator shaft, outdoor coffee shop with wicker furniture and very expensive prices, good meals in the restaurant, two separate buildings with an elevator servicing each structure. Large comfortable bedrooms with nice furnishings and comfortable beds,... More

We stayed here only for one night in a deluxe room, but got a good impression of the hotel. The room was super big and all the dark wooden furnishings made us feel like staying in a antique house (in a good way). The bed was on the hard side, though. And we had somewhat noisy neighbours we could hear... More

We paid $40 (yes, silly, but at the beginning of our trip) per night for two people including breakfast. The room was clean and ok, the bath flooded everyday when having a shower (we weren't too worried). Breakfast is mediocre to rubbish, unless a tour group arrives, and its freezing in winter in the dining room.

Rooms were large and clean. Ac and Wifi worked just fine. Hot Breakfast buffet served. I got the name of this hotel from my guide book (DK eyewitness travel) This place is really convenient because it's just a block from where our Open Bus dropped us off from Hanoi. For some reason I just didn't get a friendly vibe from... More

We spent one night here, after the drive from Hanoi and an expedition on the river at Tam Cok. Our spacious room was recently refurbished with a comfortable bed, two chairs and a desk, and had a very satisfactory bathroom. It was at the back of the hotel, so was very quiet. Our luggage was taken to our room, and... More

I don't know where these other reviewers were staying but it certainly wasn't our experience. Having travelled from Vingh, this Hotel was a paradise. We have returned twice and the rooms just got better. The staff were efficient and helpful. The hosts were spot on. We will be returning in the near future. "Halong on the Land " describes this...
