So, I turned up at the hotel with no booking at 3am (thought it was going to be 5am) having been dropped off by my sleeper bus and driven here by a lovely taxi driver (50'000). I was kindly received and given a double room ($20) as the hotels single rooms were booked out. The next morning I was moved... More

We were hot, soaked in sweat and bothered when we arrived at Canh Dieu hotel. Coz of the other hotel somehow made us sit in the tour bus and it dropped us nowhere near Ninh Binh! The hotel is a family run business, staff are courteous, friendly and left us to ourselves unless we need something! They have bikes, motorcycle... More

Canh dieu is a family run hotel that welcomed us warmly and was always there for us for any questions, even if it meant interrupting the family meals sometimes. Everybody was warm and friendly. I've travelled extensively in Vietnam and never received such great service. We could check in early, they bought train tickets for us, let us rent bikes... More

We booked a tripel room. On the website it was not mention that there is no window. We could change to a double room with window. Room was small, dirty, a lot of ants and other small bugs on the bed/floor. Towels were dirty and one whole was in it. Bathroom was small. No extra shower, shower next to toilet.... More

Standard hotel, super cheap price and superior service for a vietnamese countryside hotel. I recommend you rent a moped from the hotel, I think they have around 4 to rent for cheap. Travel to the sights on your own with your moped just as the locals do, awesome experience! If you decide to eat at the restaurant get the local... More

We stayed at Canh Dieu for one night. We arrived in Ninh Binh after a horrible bus ride and relaxed the rest of the day. One the second day, when we were planning to take boat ride and climb a mountain, it was raining like crazy. We decided tot check out early and leave for Hanoi. Although I booked for... More

We were very impressed with this hotel. It's set in a blocky, spacious building with a large lobby area and modern elevator. The rooms were a good size, and came with quiet, powerful air-con and lashings of hot water. There was also a stash of complimentary shampoo and soap sachets, plus combs and toothbrushes. The hotel is on a broad,... More

The guy at reception couldn't have been more helpful, absolute angel and excellent English. The room came with a balcony, fridge, hair dryer, tv etc all for £5 and it was cleaned every day. Only problem is that for each of the three nights we were there the room was light and you could hear every noise on the street... More

The most friendly, helpful and genuine staff we have come across in 4 months of travelling. Nothing was too much trouble, they went out and bought our train tickets from a ridiculously busy station for no commission, bought a Sim card for us, helped put credit on it, and generally helped with all our queries. Good breakfast - you have... More

From reading the other reviews we must have stayed at a different hotel (though other guests at the same time as us spoke of their dissatisfaction). The bed was VERY hard, I would wake up numb throughout the night on the side I was laying on and have to turn, on top of which we were right above the train... More
