We were so glad we stayed here in Tam Coc rather than in the nearby town of Ninh Binh. Within walking distance are the row boats, rice paddies, Thai Vi temple and some great Buddhist cave temples. An amazing new museum featuring ancient Vietnamese houses is nearing completion, well worth seeing. And the shops here offer beautifully made embroidery at... More

Stayed here on our RTW trip for 2 nights after reading decent reviews. Rooms were nice but the breakfast buffet consisted of 4 stale pieces of bread and fried eggs with eggshell in them. We stayed an extra night as it was my birthday only to find that a large party of Vietnamese toursits were staying and Karaoke night had... More

Having read the reviews from earlier this summer I was apprehensive about staying at the long hotel, but decided to go with my agent's advice based on location.I thought that for one night I could tolerate discomfort etc. On arrival the place looks like a colonial outpost hotel-external staircases and balconies in front of the rooms accessed by French windows.the... We planned to visit Ninh Binh / Tam Coc for just one night but in the end we stayed 3 nights. The surroundings of Tam Coc are gorgeous. The town itself is quiet, no nightlife, no bars, no karaoke, no crazy traffic. A delight if you just come from Ha Noi. The hotel is very nice for this price range,... More

We stayed at the hotel for one night. It was a horrible experience. The hotel did not inform us of water shortage on the first day. Our repeated queries to hotel management were fobbed off, and we had to wait for some four hours until midnight before the water finally returned. The lights were off throughout the hotel at night... After two days in busy Hanoi we decided to go and "relax" in Ning Binh ... the hotel we were staying in Hanoi suggested (thanks) this "new hotel" (very new ... the rooms were not finished, no breakfast, nothing but the bed inside the room so all the bags were just lying on the floor) belonging to same owner of... Due to having caught the bus after the overnight train from Sapa, we arrived at about 7:30, so weren’t at all surprised our hotel room wasn’t ready, we had breakfast in their top floor restaurant, which overlooks the harbour, only the village “square” in between, and has virtually a 360 degree view of the surrounding area. Their breakfast is quite... More
