This place is funny. The setting is undeniably beautiful, and the rooms are very nice, really nice. There is a garden, a wonderful badminton court amongst pine trees (but with ancient badminton gear), and lovely jungle sounds and scenery all around. Confusion comes from their advertising which promises unlimited trekking, including hiking to a new private beach every day. Plus... More

We had planned to stay in Cat Ba Eco Lodge for a more relaxing and peaceful break and the setting was wonderfully conducive for that. The rooms were decent too and most of the staff friendly. However, the food was over priced for what you got and there was almost an aggressive hard sell over the tours that they offered... More

Very nice hotel in the perfect location for a relaxing few days. Great base to go hiking from. The food is nice but maybe a little pricey (no other option as your far from the town) however the staff are extremely friendly and accomodating. If the owner is there have a chat with him and soon you will be drinking... More

After spending a couple of days in the national park we thought we would treat ourselves to a bit of luxury for a night. The accommodation was nice but the food and drinks became problematic. Dinner cost 15$ per person which didn't make sense as 2 people who had much less food still had to pay the same as those... More

Fine place to base yourself to explore Cat Ba island without being "in the throng". Around 20-30 minutes from the main town and a great place to just sit and relax. Wifi coverage good, staff were really good and although it was pretty humid when we were there the walks were still accessible. Food was fine so I don't see... More

We stayed one night in weekend, very helpful manager, fresh atmosphere. The room is nice and good smell from wood. Perfect for relaxing and escape from pollution city. Sleep bed is very nice and clean. Dinning is good

The Cat Ba Eco Lodge was a great escape from days of exploring the hectic but fun Ha Noi. I was in contact with the lodge a month before the trip and they helped me arrange the bus ride (via Hoang Long Bus). This was pretty smooth and met up with a bus ticket saleswoman the night before we headed... More

Where do I start?. On arrival the industrial smell of varnish filled the rooms. On closer inspection they were painting the columns below the rooms. The painters had on facemasks to protect themselves no such luck for the guests. Dinner consisted of frozen crinkle cut chips, unidentifiable fish with the texture of clay, frozen western style vegetables, assorted other ordinary... More

Exotic location In the jungle. But far from the town. If you are looking for relaxation and isolation this is great. We are a bit too antsy for this place but loved the vibe and hospitality. Rooms are clean. Food is ok and staff are great!

My family stayed at Cat Ba Eco Lodge for three days at the end of March. We had fantastic time during living there. The staff were very friendly and helpful. the food was really delicious and fresh.
