This is a good hotel and basically the only one in town if you want western standards, are a female travelling alone and so forth. The staff isn't particularly friendly or helpful, but when they do turn their attention to you, they are friendly. It's getting their attention that can be tricky. The breakfast is ok and certainly ample. There... More

I needed a hotel thats in the city, clean and hassel free. I got it. 5 star, its not, but its clean and the standards are OK lets say 3 /4 star. how often are those blankets washed/ bed coverings?!!!!!!! the buliding is beautiful and the central courtyard is pretty. Breakfast - good selection, self service. female receptionist was very... More

After roughing it in Le Kef, Kairouan was a dream come true. For the equivalent of sixty US dollars I had an exquisitely clean room AND bathroom, beautiful balcony overlooking the pool, and a bedroom with lots of Turkish tile and uniquely decorated. I've traveled a lot and was very impressed with the cleanliness standards of this room. The beds... More

That big pool may be a little public, sitting as it does right in front of the generously proportioned and generous portions restaurant, but it is inviting. It’s also a good place to chill out after a hearty lunch. Almost 100 rooms and a conference suite, you might mingle with guests and delegates at the same time. There’s a more... More

The hotel is superb with a large lobby decorated with taste in Arabic style. It is well located close to the main sites of Kairouan, including the many mosques of the Medina. As a result, don't be surprised if the nearby muezzin takes care of the wake-up call at about 5:00 a.m. The room was large and clean, decorated with... More

I have stayed at La Kasbah nearly a dozen times, the most recent being in July 2011. Kairouan has few hotel options and despite shortcomings, La Kasbah is the only hotel that goes beyond the basic, no frills hotel. One's initial reaction upon entering the hotel, with its wonderful tile work, setting amidst the historic architectural walls of this provincial,... More

I spent one night in this hotel and I wish I could have stayed longer. The room was clean and beautifully decorated. The main lobby of the hotel and well as the area around the swimming pool were beautiful and very welcoming. The staff was extremely helpful with any questions we had. More

Magnificent building that is exquisitely decorated with thoughtful and tasteful design. However, I got the distinct impression that the we were among very few guests staying at Hotel La Kasbah. This was evident at the poolside as well as in the restaurant at breakfast time. The result was that even on the warmest days, the majority of the public areas... More

We only stay for 1 night 2 days before the jasmine revolution. The hotel has a somber look from the outside but is luxurious inside with Arabic Islamic décor. The hotel inside the old fortress (kasbad) incorporate certain ancient areas that have been restored – the Turkish café, the a la card restaurant, the shopping area. The rooms have the... More
