If you go to Sukhothai you want to stay here unless you are looking for a snooty 5 star hotel. Paolo is so helpful, explaining the best times to view each area of ruins. You can feel his joy when he talks about Sukhothai. The gardens are a treat. I would get my coffee and walk around enjoying the gardens... More

We found Orchid Hibiscus by chance following the signs on the road side. Stuff welcomed us and showed us a lovely room which was also very comfortable. We were travelling around in northern Thailand for days and really needed a place for a short break to rest. We were surprised to see the rich breakfast buffet and the great conversation... More

I stayed at Orchid Hibiscus two nights on August 11. I chose the place in Lonely Planet. On the second day, during my shower, the sink in the bathroom fell down and broke, thing one doesn't expect from such an object under normal usage. I wasn't hurt, so I was glad to move to another room and consider it a... More

We came to the guest house at 7pm.Nobody told us nothing about where to go...It was a fortune that a kind French girl told us how the things work here. You have to rent a bike to go to the city.50thb per bike. The problem is you cant rent it in the evening. You also cant rent it in the guesthouse but... More

I stayed here for two nights with my boyfriend during off peak season. We arrived late at night and hadn't booked but were given a room without a fuss (unfortunately as they weren't expecting guests so late the only lady around didn't speak much English but we got the message across!). We stayed in room 5, a standard room with... More

This is Paulo's place - so if you like him and his style it might be described as full of character. If you don't, well...........you probably need to go somewhere else. This is like a backpackers lodge, so don't expect fancy fittings. But it is totally adequate, well located for visiting the old city, the garden has charm, and Paulo... More

First, I just have to say that Paulo is an incredible host. He made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived, hooked us up with a map of the Old City, and outlined the lay of the land, just awesome. For $35.00 Canadian a night I have no reason to complain. Yes the beds are hard, but my sleep... More

Disgusting hotel. We paid for 2 nights, but escaped after the first one because: - the room had strong urine smell - bathroom was very dirty - no warm water - terribly hard bed (like sleeping on the floor) - no noise isolation whatsoever (you hear not only neighbors talking, but also what they are saying)

The accomodation is quite old and bad maintened, the room is super small for 2 people, the bathroon is depressive (not even a tent in the shower and the floor is always flooded). The staff is very remessive in giving any kind of information (and not even english speaking). We have been charged an overprice of 3% for payment with... More

We stayed for two nights and would recommend the place to everyone wh wants to stay in Old Sukhothai. Owner: Paolo is special, but a great person. If you ask him a few questions you can learn a great deal about Thailand. Don't treat him like hotel staff - he is an Italian maestro and deserves to be treated accordingly.... More
