After enjoying the sophistication and nightlife of Bangkok and the awesome beauty and serenity of Koh Samui, Phitsanulok is a major buzz kill. The city of Phitsanulok is sort of the Fresno, California of Thailand. You're not really sure why it's there, the people are strange, and you're certain you want to leave soon. The heat in Phitsanulok oppresses you... More

The Pattara is in a league of it's own in the Phitsanulok area. The setting is tranquil, and allows one to feel at ease the minute you enter the facility. The rooms are comfortable and all have great views of the gardens and large pond in the centre of the property. The fragrant smell of frangipani flowers is carried on... More

We recently travelled around Thailand from South to North by car with our family. (4 children and us) We mixed up the hotels, some were 5 star and some were more "camping" style. We had decided to stay and visit the town of Phitsanulok and we were not really expecting very much in terms of hotel. We were so surprised... More

This is a huge sprawling hotel and there were very few people in it. The pool is huge and looked like it had not been cleaned for awhile as the water was cloudy. Not sure why we were put so far away from everything and had to walk a bit for dinner and drinks but oh well. Could be a... More

The Pattara resort and spa was undoubtedly a beautiful oasis, and incredibly well maintained. The rooms were very spacious, spotlessly clean and had the most comfortable beds out of all of the hotels I stayed in whilst travelling in Thailand. The resort was quiet and tranquil and the huge infinity pool was a delight. The only criticism I have, is... More

Traveling through we only stayed one night unfortunately. A beautiful hotel, the room had a 4 poster bed with a splendid view. We slept with the curtains open to fully enjoy the view! Great swimming pool that is optically enlarged thanks to the surrounding pond. Very friendly staff

Had a lovely few days here...this resort is set in the most beautiful grounds that are simply stunning and hard to believe you are in an urban area.....however the mosquitos and flies were a problem for me...bitten regularly despite spraying....and lots of flies in the open restaurant area and getting under the protective covers on the food....its a shame as... Nice design of the pool, spa and around. Good breakfast while sitting at the big pond with Lotosflowers. Friendly, pritty, english speaking Reception staff. City to be reached by Taxi or Tuktuk. Inside hotel: pick up from parking to room by e-golfcar. Environment friendly transport.

My husband and I stayed here just for one night on our way from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, and we wish we had stayed longer just to enjoy the resort! This is an absolutely gorgeous place, and without exaggeration this is probably our best stay during our 3 weeks in Thailand. I'd go back to Phitsanulok just to stay at... More
