I stayed here few days, firstly I booked a room with fan and private bathroom but the guesthouse changed for me because they told another guess not yet checked out. But the one which they changed for me is good though like I stayed alone in a private house. The room is clean with a net and big bed room... More

As soon as you arrive at Mut Mee you feel the friendly atmosphere. The owner and its staff are lovely and will do their best to ensure you have a perfect stay. You won't get tired of the view from the garden overlooking the Mekong. The food is so yummy. My single room was very practical and the outside bathroom... More

Its a paradise in this lovely town of Nong Khai... Run by a hospitable Brit-Thai family, this place is a gem right by the amazing river of Mekong. The beautiful garden with a restaurant with its delicious food and soothing breeze from the river, the wonderful view of neighbour Laos, cozy and comfy rooms with a wide range of prices... More

Mut Mee was the perfect place to stop over for the night before heading to Laos. The owners are very welcoming, and helped us with anything we needed, including a trip in their own car. The garden looking over the river is amazing, could easily sit there all day. We didn't as there was actually lots to see in Nong... More

I know who you are! You're the four young lads from London. Well if you were impressed with us, we were impressed with you. It's great to have fun young lads like you coming to stay! As Ben, my son is exactly your age and is bilingual in English and Thai, it was so easy to show you around! Mut... More

After an uncharacteristic absence of almost 10 months, I returned to find two great upgrades! 1) A fridge added to my favorite room (#2 with a large balcony). 2) A pavilion free of cigarette smoke. Thanks from all of us customers who try to stay healthy. Love the signs: "In This Hut, No Smoking, Owing to Danger of Explosion from... More

I recognized the style of their guesthouse straight away, its like a small island resort, timber bungalows, Spartan interior, outdoor style shower, mosquito netting over bed and a lush garden. The guesthouse has a great kitchen with plenty of seating overlooking the river. On the downside the rooms struggle to get a Wi-Fi signal and you can hear you neighbors... More

Yes, we do have a slight island style look. This is largely because I love the natural tropical possibilities in this country. And I am not the only one. We have been greatly appreciated by a number of families of red squirrels, one family of Asian white squirrels, and many different kinds of butterflies. Soundproofing? Yes, that's something I have... This place is so cosy and charming and a joy to discover. We had the best room called Arun which is on the 2nd floor with a verandah overlooking the river. Quite romantic. The staff is very friendly and helpful and most speak English. We only stayed a night as we were on our way to Laos (Nongkai is on... More

Thank you for your wonderful review and for mentioning Room Arun. Arun (which means the dawn) has both a double bed and a single bed so is good for a couple, a family or two friends. It does have the most wonderful balcony overlooking the Mekong River which is big enough for six people to sit comfortably. It comes with... More

Mut Mee is a charming, family-owned guesthouse. Julien and Pao Wright have run the place for over 20 years and they are the perfect hosts. Either one would make an excellent General Manager at any 5 star hotel! They get to know their guests, sitting down and chatting with them. They have a wonderful lore of local knowledge and stories... More

Gosh! Thank you for your glowing review! We are glad you enjoyed Wat Kaek, or Salakaewkoo as it is more properly called, the enormous sculpture park to the east of Nong Khai. After living here for 25 years, I still find it one of the most wonderfully quirky places in Thailand. I was most fortunate to have met the sculptor-guru... More

After a horrific train trip from Bangkok that resulted being in a tragic two train collision and many injuries we finally made it to Nong Khai. Our band of survivors who had banded together sore and slightly traumatised gradually made it to Nong Khai and Emma in our group took us to Mut Mee astride the Mekong River and what... More

I so glad that Mut Mee was able to provide you a place to rest and recuperate after your ordeal on the train. Thank you for writing such a lovely review, and pointing out our unusual mix of accommodation. Our plan, going back many years, is to have something for everyone. While some places style themselves as pricey resorts and... More

This place has a nice vibe on its site on the Mekong and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Its a great place to sit around and chill but aside from the room everything is extra - tea, coffee, breakfast etc and it's easy to find your bill has doubled. It'as an honesty system so your room book does keep... More

We have long debated whether to offer breakfast in the price of the rooms, but having talked to our customers, we felt it was better to keep our room prices low and allow people to choose what breakfast they would like. This way we can offer a proper fresh breakfast and avoid the "breakfast recycling" which some hotels employ to... More
