Quiet, peaceful, and situated directly on the Mekong River. Stupendous river views from the room balcony and garden. A beautiful and relaxing garden area catering to an eclectic mix of travellers - from backpackers to retirees to families. Generally a more mature crowd here, but nicely tempered by young travellers as well. Room D (Dharuni) is nicely appointed with sat.... More

Totally enjoyed my room at this guest house. It was practical, cheap (only 800 THB per night) and with excellent Wi-fi, shower and aircon. It was perfect in almost all aspects, but my only suggestion is that they give a complimentary bottle of water to the guests which may not be that much but it will be very much appreciated,... More

This is an absolute gem of a find. Delightful garden, huge community covered area for dining or just relaxing. It is constructed with authentic local materials not often seen these days as such structures are expensive to keep in good condition. I have a small single fan room, eminently suited to my needs. Shared shower and toilet, working and spotless.... More

Have stayed here several times and it has been a pleasure. The staff have been very helpful and there is an air of tranquility about the place. Walking distance to the center of Nong Kai and places to eat. Try the food here it is very good and not too expensive. I have to give you 5 stars Julian thank... More

My travelling companion and I are on a whistle stop your of SE Asia and have just finished Laos. We were at Vang Vieng and didn't want to take the god awful bus ride back to Luang Prabang to get to Chiang Mai. So we decided to carry on down and cross the friendship bridge into Thailand to Nong Khai.... More

If you're a non-smoker, and if worse, allergic; you're going to have a rough time eating at MutMee's restaurant. Mostly European types smoke with abandon all around you, blowing billows of smoke while you try to choke down a meal. The restaurant fare, but it is decidedly spoiled by less-thoughful guests. I continue to encourage the owners to set aside... More

The best guesthouse I have been in Thailand. I had an excellent, nicely furnished room with the best clamboo I have ever seen. The staff is very helpful. They have a very interesting system of keeping track of your orders: you write it down yourself in a booklet so you can always check. Good! I haven't dinner there but breakfast... More

We had very high expectations heading to Mut Mee after reading all the reviews but found it didn't quite live up to those expectations. The much heralded gardens I thought lacked proper maintenance and could be kept a lot tidier. We had a deluxe double room which was upstairs in the old building with its own outdoor living/balcony area. It... More

It's been 8 years between visits, and either Mut Mee has lost a step, perhaps two, but part of that could well have been that the owners were away during our stay and the staff just didn't care as much when they aren't being watched. First the bad, sometime in the recent past a concrete wall and walking/biking path was... More

Great beautiful Guesthouse! It looks rather like real resort then normal guest. Green territory, good wi-fi, a lot of plugs outside. We live now in a room with fan, it's on first store, so it's quite cold here. Nice stuff, good food and coffee. I hope, we'll stay here for two weeks) and we are planning to enjoy every minute...
