By U.S. standards, this is a mid-range hotel; but for Nong Khai quite satisfactory for a short stay. We were booked in the higher floors, termed VIP, at a slight additional cost. The property is used by bus tours as a rest stop and overnight stay, so expect some crowding during the acceptable buffet breakfast. Service was friendly and helpful.

arrived early, around 1pm, but checked in quickly (after they found an English speaker who was exceptionally helpful!) large clean comfortable well appointed room with fridge, tea and coffee making facility, large tv with channels in English and exceptionally efficient a/c which was just as well as temperatures were in the 40's. warning of mosquitos in open corridors which were... Just a short ride on a tuk tuk everywhere, takes you down to the river walk where plenty of eating places / pubs to be had, and very laid back., this is just next to Mutt Mee hotel. If one of the staff do not understand you they will get a member of staff to assist you who can speak... More

We drove up to Nong Khai in order to get to Vientiane for a visa. We found some cheaper places that looked ok but this was the only one we found with a car park, and furthermore we were able to leave it there for one night. We paid ฿200.- for the privilege, but what do you expect?. Friendly reception,... More

New and clean hotel with spacious room and bath room. We take room VIP 2 on 5th floor.it was really nice and cozy with 1 bed room style condo. Disappointed with only loud noices from local motor bikes but believe ever hotel should face this same problem.

Stayed here one night for literally the closeness to the border and were quite surprised it was a very nice place and quite friendly staff during our visit. Arriving close to midnight we had our bags taken to our room and ordered food up to the room which was really great luckily. Breakfast was a fairly typical buffet and hotel... More

Not sure how this got the number 1 spot in Nong Khai...there are quite a few far better than this one. Inattentive and unfriendly reception staff greeted us upon arrival and were given a room on the 5th Floor. On every occasion we saw the reception staff over the 3 days we didnt even get an acknowledgement with a simple... More

This hotels nice on the outside and very new, with very basic smallish rooms with softer beds, air, refrigerator, and TVs. BUT... 1. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived at 12:30, although we called previously to make sure checkin was 12:00. They told us to wait 30 mins upon arriving. We couldn't wait bc our son was in bad... The hotel appears impressive from outside but the internal décor especially inside the rooms is not of the same standard. I found the front desk staff to be somewhat arrogant at times, which confused me as they seemed to have a much more positive attitude towards Thai guests, even cutting off conversations with me to service Thai guests. The standard... More

After a 'disastrous' visit to another Nong Khai hotel on a previous weekend we have now stayed at the Royal Nakara Hotel on two occasions and found it to be exceptional. From the welcoming and helpful doorstaff to the reception desk and serving staff. Rooms have been impeccably clean and everything was spotless and just as it should have been.... More
