I found the sai thong resort on the guardian top ten places to stay in Thailand, after the business of koh phangan we wanted somewhere quiet with few other guests and a great beach. We knew that sai thong was not the easiest to get to on the island (you can get a longtail taxi boat to the beach or... More

A wooden, simple hut on a palmtree beachfront. Mosquito net, bed, toilet, sink and shower, hammock on the deck outdoors. Swimming, snorkling from the moment you open your eyes early in the morning. What more do you need? When you do need a little more comfort, you can rent a less simple equipped bungalow on the lovely kept grounds of... More

This place is perfect as long as you know what to expect. It is cheap and very basic accommodation - a bamboo bungalow with insects etc included. We ended up staying 10 nights as we enjoyed our stay so much. If you are looking to get away from the crowds and you want peace and quiet to read a book,... More

This place is gorgeous and has an incredible feel, the beach is just perfect. However, do not come here if you dont want to "rough it". There will be creepy crawlies in rooms etc because thats what this is - basic shack bungalows, a room for a night or more if you can handle it. We had an incredible view... More

Wow, what an amazing experience!! We stayed in cabin on the rocks and it was truely magical and wonderful. I felt like I'd stumbled onto a movie set of some charming castaway movie, it was surreal. Unfortunately, we stayed during wet season with strong westerly winds, so with strong waves crashing below us some nights (and a rock hard bed),... More

We loved our stay at Sai Thong Resort! The bungalows are rustic but comfy and steps from one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. The staff is great and the restaurant is amazing! Jump in the water and you'll find incredible snorkeling! This is truly a gem of a resort for those who don't need excess and are... More

The beach is trully beautuful, accessable only by boat, few bungalows with sea view surrounded by palm trees! Totally recommendable for romance & nature lovers. Note: the bungalows are quite basic, but with a nice terrace & a hammak. Loved that place!

...........very very basic accommodation with no room service.......but.....we learnt the 'house rules' after a couple of days and you can take used towels, sheets etc back to reception and collect clean ones! Unfortunately our bathroom was damp and mouldy and I had to clean the basin and toilet when we arrived.....and during our stay! In view of all of this... More

i stayed there one month in a little bungalow (500 bath).well its really basic. but you have a bed( with moskito net), a shower, little sink, mirror and toilet. and of course at night you will hear some little geccos but they are not dangerous ;) so if you really like the nature and dont ned luxus it ideal for... We had one of the nicest stays at this place. It wasn't easy to get to as we arrived in a storm and the road gave out before we got there. We had to walk with rucksacks but worth the effort. The best way to get there is by a boat taxi. Same price, 100 baht per person seemed to... More
