I've stayed at Ko Tao Resort 10 years ago this month. And, I'm back. The bay, the views, the salt-water, the palm trees ~~ all the natural resources are as beautiful as ever. But, and here's a big <BUT> .... the resort infrastructure is now jaded, tired, smelly and under-maintained. It looks exactly as remember it years ago ... except... More

Don't waste your money booking this resort stay elsewhere cheaper and in a better location. Rooms are dated and unclean full of insects our room was cleaned twice in 7 nights even though the hotel only had 6 guests the pool areas are nice. The beach is ok but you can't swim in the sea it's all rocky and real... More

sandra; Travelagent from Holland: I stayed in this place with my 2 children during a trip in bungalows in Ko Samui, Ko Phangnan and a hotel in Bangkok. We expected a nice resort hotel - as shown on pictures (and even shown on the film on the ferry to Ko tao) It looks like a nice resort; with lots of... More

Ridiculously slow internet. Rooms are pretty run down for the price. Friendly staff and small shop at reception. Towels provided for beach and room. Buffet breakfast included in room rate. Easy to walk along beach to find different restaurants.

where do i start? on arrival, free lift to hotel from pier was nice! then got put into a room with a broken aircon, complained they said well upgrade, we looked at the upgrade rooms which is in the paradise bit way too far up in mountain, said thats not what we want, eventually hour later moved us into a... It is the location of Ko Tao Resort that wins hands down for me. It is a most beautiful bay which was less than 10 seconds to walk to from our bungalow. OK it could be spruced up but then how long do you spend in your room when there is a beautiful pool, amazing beach and sea almost lapping... More

I have to agree with others who say it could need a facelift. Staff ( mostly) speak good english and are friendly, the location is good, although a bit away from the 'strip' which is a good thing I guess... Perhaps not only for this place but many places on koh tao seem small and crowded, I guess it's partly... More

I am not sure if it was because we were at the end of our worlwind tour of Thailand & Cambodia But our 5 day stay at the Ko Tao Resort were some of our most enjoyable of our trip. From the quaint little town of restaurants and shops to snorkeling & kayaking around the point to Freedom Beach and... More

I decided to stay in a more expensive hotel for a couple nights while in Koh Tao because I wanted to see what 65$ US a night would get me at a paradise island, in Thailand. This was the biggest accommodation mistake of my travels and I'm not too happy about making that mistake. I was tired after a long... More
